The staff are genuinely kind and helpful, always smiling and ready to assist. Waking up to the sounds of nature and enjoying the calm atmosphere was the highlight of our stay. Our Bali Accommodation Kubu Damai: A Little Paradise in the Heart of the Island My husband and I were lucky enough to find this truly special place on our trip to Bali. Our host, Putu, was incredibly welcoming, spoke excellent English, and made us feel like part of the family. The accommodation itself was just picture-perfect: nestled in a lush, multi-level garden in the heart of Bali’s interior, with charming bamboo huts made from natural materials. There were a lot of flowering plants, fruit trees, and little fish ponds with koi all around, creating a true natural paradise. The food was very good—both breakfast and dinner were offered, often with ingredients straight from the garden. The staff were super friendly, and the other guest was lovely, so we had some really nice talks together. There are only two of these cabins, so it’s a very intimate, personal setting. From the bed, you get a gorgeous view of nature, and there’s a little terrace as well. Upstairs, there was a breezy covered dining area right by the fish ponds where you could enjoy your meals with a gentle breeze. One highlight was how Putu helped us out when we had a little mishap—he took care of everything, and it all worked out perfectly. In short, we can wholeheartedly recommend this place. Of all the accommodations we stayed at in Bali, this was by far the best, the most welcoming, and just an absolute gem. We love to come again!

Wir hatten einen selbst verschuldeten Scooter Unfall. Das hat uns etwas ausgebremst. Der Vermieter war dabei sehr hilfreich. Besser eggt es nicht.

Kubu Damai is an exceptional stay if you're in Jatiluwih. The Owners are very warm and kind and do everything to ensure the stay is excellent. The calm and serenity all around can really help you relax and get excellent sleep. It's proximity to the UNESCO's World Heritage rice fields is a big plus. We rented a motorbike from them and went all the way to Munduk and other places around Jatiluwih, a lot of beautiful waterfalls via some lovely green Mountain roads. They provide a good breakfast and meals are traditional Bali cuisine.

There is nothing to dislike about Kubu Damai

Words can’t describe how magical this place truly is ✨ I have lived in Bali for three years now, staying all around the island, and this humble little cabin in the jungle tops them all. I was looking for a peaceful space in the mountains to have some time for solitude and reflection, which is what I experienced and more. The land is spiritually enriched, beautifully manicured with nature, Balinese ponds and architecture. The cabin itself is cosy, safe, warm, clean and comfortable, with a beautiful veranda overlooking a valley full of fresh lush jungle and a running river. The outside shower is magnificent, showering amongst nature and under the Bali sun/moon is something I’ll never forget. But most of all, the hospitality from Putu, his mama, papa, the staff and everyone in this Balinese village will forever leave an imprint on my heart. The food, beautifully home cooked, is made with so much love. Putu shared his rich life stories and lessons with me over many meals, and shared insights into the Balinese culture I had never heard before. It’s the most at ‘home’ I’ve felt here in Bali, and I am so grateful for my experience at Kubu Dami. Suksema x

Kubu Damai Guest House is a hidden gem close to the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces and a charming little waterfall called Hey Hoo. The property has only two bungalows, set in a peaceful garden with two lovely ponds, which makes the atmosphere very relaxing. The hosts are absolutely charming and always ready to help, making you feel truly welcome. Breakfast is served whenever it suits you, and dinner is also available – all homemade, delicious, and very reasonably priced. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay in the heart of nature, this is the perfect spot. I would definitely return without hesitation.
