It was basic but clean, most importantly it was considerably cheaper than other options.

It was quite close to Gatwick airport.
I did not realise that the accommodation was a HMO which was unmanned and only contact with owner was via phone messages. Whilst this was not a problem it felt very impersonal. The parking was on a drive in front of the property. There was already one vehicle on the drive with the rear passenger window smashed in. Quite worrying.
The room was basic but the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The shared bathroom was not very clean with something in the bath left by another guest.
All in all cheap and cheerful. Everything worked in the end.

Bathroom was nice
No tv in room despite being advertised as having one (although there was a remote control!).
Mattress old and uncomfortable and bedding smelled musty.
Kettle in room but no mugs, coffee, teabags etc.
Towel provided was wet.
Building is in noisy residential area.
Room doors are heavy, meaning neighbours coming and going woke me up several times in the night
