Lakshmi Home Stay, Kallidai

We stayed at Lakshmi Homestay, located right in front of the Sri Varagha Perumal Temple in the agraharam area, and it offered a pleasant experience overall. We booked the “Aakasha” first-floor unit, which was suitably sized for our family of three. Visiting during the Margazhi month made the location even more special, as we were able to walk to the temple early in the morning and enjoy the Margazhi bhajans being sung on the mada streets. Our host, Mr. Harish, was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. He suggested a visit to the Porunai River, about a kilometer away, for a river bath, and it turned out to be a memorable experience—walking through the fields surrounded by paddy crops and bathing in the river with guidance from the warm and welcoming locals. He also recommended Varha Home Foods, which served excellent home-cooked meals; definitely worth trying if you're visiting Kalladai. We also visited Agasthiyar Falls, which added to the overall trip.

One area of improvement would be ventilation on the first floor. We kept the door open for airflow, which led to mosquitoes entering the room; adding mosquito mesh to the windows would help keep the space ventilated without letting insects in. Overall, it was a peaceful, culturally rich, and satisfying stay.
