Cozy 3-bedroom house in family-oriented Melrose Park.

Great time overall

The place was great. It’s an older home and was perfect for us because we weren’t there much other than showering and sleeping. One of the beds is super hard, so it’s perfect for those sleepers than need a hard mattress.

Hot tub was fantastic! Just what we needed. Beautiful home. Fun games! Our doggo loved playing with the toys! Would definitely book here again!

Check in and check out was extremely easy. Our son really enjoyed the hot tub. The property has a lot of room and the grounds are nicely landscaped. We were however disappointed by there being no bathtub and not all the beds were Queen as in the listing. The listing description said bathtub or shower which I interpreted as both were available at the rental but looking back, there's no pictures of a tub so I suppose I should have noted that. The mattress in one room was very worn out and without a box spring so it was sagging a bit. The smaller mattress was too hard to be comfortable. This may not be a negative issue for other people but for us the sheer overwhelming use of air fresheners in the house made our stay much less enjoyable. Even after removing all the plug-in and reed diffusers, the smells never really cleared. Our visitors on the second day commented as well, saying they were getting a headache from the perfume like smell in the house.On our first morning, we did keep catching a whiff of gas from near the stove and the host immediately sent someone to checkout the stove and after the gas hose was tightened we didn't have any more issues. I do think the house should have more than one smoke detector but I don't know what the minimum is by "the rules". Overall, I think the house is just a bit older than we usually rent but was near by family we were there to see.
