Casa Ostoja - Heated pool & Spacious Villa

The property was very spacious and had a lovely garden

Nothing much to no like overall was a good villa

We had a 2 week stay in March/April '25. The communication from the agency handling the property was very good, including a short video on how to find the key box, etc. The villa was semi-detached, which is not clear from the description or photographs on Booking.com. This wasn't a problem for us, but you can hear people through the adjoining walls. The villa is in Bonavista, which is a gated housing development with a mixture of owner occupied and holiday rentals. At the end of the street is a mini market, and the top of Montana Roja is only a 20-minute hike away, although it's not an easy climb. The villa is on the outer edges of Playa Blanca and a 30-minute walk to Playa Flamingo and a 40-minute walk to the town centre. You can catch a number 30 bus from Virginia Park bus stop, which is about 5 mins walk from the villa. This is a circular route around Playa Blanca, passing through the town centre and costs €1.40 each. We had a car during our 2nd week, and there is a small offroad parking space outside the villa. If you don't have a car, be prepared to walk (or catch a bus) to eat out as there are no restaurants near the villa. The villa itself is spacious and well equipped with a large living area and 3 bedrooms, one with ensuite. The beds could have been more comfortable, and the pillow options needed to be improved as there were only soft pillows on each bed. We asked for firmer ones. We also asked for fans as it was warm at night. Be aware that the bedroom windows have fixed shutters (semi-closed) on the outside, and there are no curtains. This was not a problem at the time of year we stayed as it didn't get light until after 7am. The outside area is very private with table and chairs and 6 loungers and some shade, which was good. The pool was clean, but not huge - you could do around 4 strokes between ends. The garden has some nice planting.

Loved this villa - perfect for couples sharing or for a family. We had a surprise welcome pack, which included water, wine, beer, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, cream crackers and some crisps! The villa was very well equipped and was a real home from home. Spotlessly clean and comfortable and the villa was spot on, inside and out. The heated pool was fabulous - the warmest we've ever had and the loungers were in good condition. The beds, bedding and pillows were comfy too and we slept so well.

Not a problem for the time of year that we holidayed, and we appreciate not all owners wish to install air conditioning, but there were no fans available - and you'd definitely need them in the warmer months.
