Great stay in the end, although I thought it might not happen

Upgraded to the larger apartment which wasn't much more expensive which gave us more room for 3 and our own bathroom. The apartment was clean and great value for money. Central to gaslamp and all it has to offer.

The payment app that they insist you use to pay for the apartment is only geared up for people living in the US. Being from the UK, I couldn't input a UK billing address post code so my payment wouldn't go through. The staff on the app didn't seem to know any work around for this, all they said was "do you not have a US card you can use?". Plus would allow bank transfer or cash payment. Genuinely thought I was going to have to cancel the booking whilst stood outside the hotel. I ended up finding a work around on the internet to pay but far from ideal after a 5 hour drive. Gets noisy on the weekends but if you want to be in the centre of it all this is always going to happen, plus they do provide earplugs.

Not much really. Place was clean.

Location is downtown San Diego, with a Bar blasting music below on a Sunday night. "La Ventana" is a fake/trade name not available on the street. It's actually the Gas Lamp Hostel with a suite of rooms and common shower/baths. Surrounding did not look safe to me. But hey, I had to quickly find somewhere to sleep for a rather steep price for the place... Toilets and showers are separate. There's a cumbersome ID verification process (I am not even sure it's safe to share an ID with them on the other platform they require you to do the verification: guesty.com).

Overall nice and comfy.

The room was nicely decorated and clean along with the hallways. Easy to enter and check in.

The window in one of the stalls for the women restroom was broken and was exposed to the outside. Also, someone was screaming for someone named Alex and was pulling on a door for a long period of time during the middle of the night.

War schlecht, bis auf die Lage.

Die Lage ist sehr Zentral. Das ist eigentlich der einzige positive Aspekt der Einrichtung.

Mein Zimmer war neben der Lüftungsanlage, mit sehr viel Lärm 24/7. Die Hotelbetreiber sind nie vor Ort und alles wird fernverwaltet. Ich habe mich beschwert und sie haben versprochen, eine Lösung zu finden, aber geändert hat sich an der Situation nichts. Ich habe auch nach einer Rechnung im Namen meines Arbeitgebers gefragt, konnten sie aber nicht liefern. Meine Nachrichten werden ignoriert oder es wird immer scheinhöflich geantwortet; sachen wie "Aber gerne, wir erfüllen Ihren Wunsch. Der Gast ist bei uns König", ohne tatsächlich mein Wunsch ganz oder teilweise zu erfüllen.

Un buen citio arriba de una pizzeria en el centro de San Diego

Si vulvo a llegar por que el lugar es: 1) Espacioso y con 2 cuartos comodos por lo que mi familia pudo convivir comodamente 2) Esta limpio y cuidado 3) Tienes un super Seven muy cerca y lo hace muy comodo. 4) El control de acceso al departamento es seguro y automatizado

No se lo recomiendo a familias con niños pequeños o adultos mayores por: 1) Tienes que subir unas escaleras y con maletas y niños se complica 2) El lugar no tiene estacionamiento por lo que si no tienes suerte tienes que caminar con las maletas y el lugar en la noche no se ve muy seguro como muchos "centros" de ciudades. 3) Es algo ruidoso los fines de semana por que hay un bar y pizzeria abajo (pero si vas de fiesta pues tienes a donde ir a tomarte unas cervezas y cenar pizza muy facil jaja)

Horrorhotel

Im Zentrum der Altstadt

Die Lage war interessant aber ohne Hotelparkplatz ein wahrer Horror. Die Toiletten waren 2 für 20 Zimmer auf dem Gang. Ebenso die Duschen. Die Geräuschentwicklung war durch die umliegende Gastronomie so laut, daß an Schlaf nicht zu denken war. Personal und Rezeption Fehlanzeige! Man konnte über Booking.com auch nicht mit den Betreibern des Hotels kommunizieren. Es ist eine Frechheit so etwas Hotel zu nennen. Selbst Jugendherbergen haben bessere Standards! Die angepriesene Küchenzeile bestand aus einem Kühlschrank und einer Mikrowelle. Besteck, Wasserkocher, Teller oder sonstiges Equipment nicht vorhanden.
