It is also pricey (we paid about INR26000, or $300 per night, excluding all meals and incidentals/provisions), with a 2 night minimum, especially if you’re only one couple (it accommodates 2 couples). The last part of the drive is up a steep and narrow drive. It's cobbled and we were here in April, so dry - but could get slippery when wet. Our sedan made it up the hill but just be aware - a higher vehicle (jeep/SUV) would help. The housekeeper cum cook is local, comes in daily from 8:30-3:30 and cooks all the meals and light cleans during that time. You’re on your own outside of those hours, but there is an equipped kitchen and tea/coffee powder/sugar etc. available. You can bring your own snacks and provisions, but be prepared to pay for the items as well as the trips if you have them picked up for you. You would heat your dinner and put away leftovers, but the cook does the dishes the next day. The meals are traditional Kerala dishes and are done well, but don’t expect to have the cooked breakfast before 9:30am. We had hired a car and driver for the trip and there was no accommodation for him on the property. Because the property is remote, there were also no hotels or restaurants within a 10km radius. So the driver was given a room in a house 1km away (INR600/night), and he shared our meals, which worked well for us, but may not for you. All in all, if you’re looking for absolute privacy, a mind blowing view with birds (even peacocks!
