The Penthouse - 3BR Seaview with Private Pool in Larnaca

I think some of the lower scoring reviews on here are unfair and don’t hold enough weight to be honest bringing the score down so much! I think if you have done your research for eg on location, prices in the area and it being on a main road, you would not be disappointed. Im not sure what expectations others had or what types of travellers they are but we are a family all adults who love spending time together and travelling, laid back and enjoy relaxing who don’t expect too much! This apartment for us was a solid 8/10! The apartment is situated on a main road by the port, about a 20 minute walk to the beautiful promenade in Larnaca, which was ideal for us! Some days when we didn’t feel like walking, we took taxis to and from the town as well as other locations we were going, look for ‘Family Taxi’ in a big yellow sign across the road next to the Radisson Blu Hotel and they will look after you, very reasonable taxi fares! The road is noisy as to be expected on a main road in the early hours of the morning but and mainly at night. Earplugs and some light music and you can sleep but it’s only worth avoiding if you’re a very light sleeper, we bought ear plugs and were fine! During the day, we played music and enjoyed a BBQ on the rooftop, the noise isn’t that bad and you get used to it! The apartment itself is immaculate and has that luxury feel, the beds are comfy! There are enough plates, bowls, cutlery, mugs and glasses etc for 8 people. A few things are missing though such as tea towels and oven gloves as well as basic condiments such as salt and pepper- however there is a Lidl that’s 5 minutes walk up the road and plenty of gift shops sell oven gloves, tea towels souvenirs so not a huge deal to be honest! There is also a local shop that seems to sell everything across the road, the guy in there is lovely and helpful! The rooftop area is really lovely and it was great having the pool to cool down during the day.

The noise from the road, however as I said you get used to it unless you are a very light sleeper! Would say having the basics like tea towels and oven gloves and a wine bottle opener- just little things that can make a difference! And some shade/umberella for the rooftop!

The penthouse is modern, stylishly designed, and offers a nice view. The large gas barbecue is a great addition, and the swimming pool with its comfortable relaxation area makes it a pleasant place to spend time. The rooms were clean and well-maintained. We also really liked the Bluetooth sound system, which allowed us to play music throughout the different levels of the villa.

However, there were a few downsides. Unfortunately, there was an unpleasant smell coming from the bathrooms during our stay. The kitchen was quite poorly equipped, with a very limited selection of cooking utensils and accessories. It was also noticeable that the property has hosted many parties over the years, as some elements of the villa showed signs of wear and tear. Considering the price, we expected a higher standard overall. Additionally, having only one adapter for European plugs available for the entire villa was quite inconvenient and created unnecessary difficulties for us. Overall, the villa has several attractive features, but there is definitely room for improvement, especially given the premium price point.
