Sesimbra Seaside Apartment, Pool, Garage

Property better than described actually. A lot of space. Large bedrooms, very spacious living room/ kitchen and bathroom as well. Spacious entry hall with a storage room. Kitchen was very well equipped. Local host was very nice and responsive. One of the things I liked about this place was the easygoing and welcoming/ discreet attitude. I have stayed in many places where the house rules are so complex or the host tries to be a city tour guide and never leaves the place. In this case the host was perfect, she arrived on time with fresh bread and a bottle of local wine as a welcome gift, explained the main features of the house, gave 2/3 tips about the town and made it clear that I could contact her if I needed anything. And then she was gone and we could relax and enjoy. Sesimbra is a lovely town and there are 2 beaches near the apartment. If you are in good shape is less than a 10 min walk. Lots of excellent restaurants and shops. But I have to warn you, there are no shades in the way, side walk is in bad shape or non existent and the way back home is walking uphill. There is a small shortcut but it involves a lot of concrete stairs. Due to my health and as I was traveling with 3 kids I decided to take my car, it is a 3 min drive and there is a convenient parking garage right in front of Ouro beach. I know nothing of this is the host fault but if you have any mobility/ health issue or is traveling with small kids is nice to know.

The only thing I did not like is the balcony wall, which is the same kind in the pool area. To be fair they are visible in the pictures, but this was a last minute booking and I assumed it was different and did not ask. The balcony has horizontal bars in the wall, the kind that is very easy for small kids to climb. I have no idea how is it possible to have the same thing in the pool area, that is located in the 5th floor. I know we are supposed to take care of our kids but this is the type of thing that in a few seconds some thing really bad can happen. Places with the type of architecture nowadays have a protective fiber or tempered glass inside so kids can not climb the bars. So my point is the apartment is perfect if you are not traveling with small kids. By the way, The doors to the balcony do not lock with keys that could be removed, but with an inbuilt lock at the door itself, that my youngest daughter could easily open by herself. Other than that, the balcony is lovely, with a nice ocean view, with tables you can enjoy your meals.
