Soseoljae Guesthouse Gyeongju

Beautiful Hanok-style hotel with a great location within walking distance of many sights and the high street. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was fresh and delicious (vegetarian friendly). Rooms retain original features with modern upgrades when it comes to the bathroom or TV for example. Walls are a bit thin so you may hear some noise from other rooms but guests were generally quite considerate of others. The room I booked had a mattress on the floor and as a first timer experiencing this it took some time to get used to but was fine in the end. Also, I was planning on getting there quite late and when I messaged the property in advance they were responsive and helpful in accommodating.

It was an excellent experience. The owner welcomed us very kindly and the rooms were clean and quiet.

Property is really beautiful and futons were comfortable. It gives you a sneak peek into traditional Korean way of living.

There’s a lot of noise coming from the street nearby so you better bring some ear plugs. But I guess that’s part of the experience. It’s still worth the visit! Even for a night.
