School House, cosy cottage for 12 with hot tub in the Peak District

Property is very large and in a very good condition. Hot tub is spacious and warm.

A few niggles mainly: - Check-in website is laborious and doesn’t work well on a mobile. Needs updating. - Accepting this is an old property, the middle bedroom is very creaky and no-one found the beds particularly comfortable. - it is clearly stated that the house is unprovisioned, but only having one toilet roll in each bathroom felt a bit cheap.

The location is great for visiting Staffordshire and Derbyshire borders. The School House is a lovely old building with quirky rooms. The hot tub was a lovely extra for everyone/

Cleanliness could have been better with lots of cobwebs and spiders which the children did not like. Some of the kitchen utensils were dirty as well as under and behind the beds. The downstairs bedroom does not have much privacy as you have to go through this to other bedrooms upstairs.

The location was excellent. In a very quiet. Picturesque hamlet. We were a 3 generation group of 13, ranging in age from 2 - 65. We played music inside and outside around the hot tub at a respectful level so as not to disturb the neighbours. ( if you want to rave, this is not the location for you) The hot tub was hot on arrival and remained so for our full 3 days.And was routinely checked by the maintenance team durring our stay. There is an excellent very clean argue style electric double cooker in a well equipped country kitchen. And although in a very rural location we successfully ordered an indian delivery meal. Although we were a large group, it felt cosy rather than over crowded with sufficient space indoors and out. The weather was good durring our stay, but on the 1 occasion we used the heating it worked well, and hot water was readily available throughout our stay. We loved it and had a wonderful family celebratory weekend break.

Downstairs shower was not cleaned throughly, ie.a litlle black mold in the harder to clean areas. Not inviting nor upto expected standard. 3 female guests requested to use our en suite instead. !!!

Lovely charming characterful house, great location for Alton Towers, fab hot tub, good large spaces to spend time as a group

They make a big deal about not providing basics like hand soap, seasoning, toilet paper… and you have to take your own towels for the hot tub. It seems tight, to be honest, at these prices and this level, and is a faff - we’re not camping, I really think there should be loo roll and handwash! Some of the beds were pretty uncomfortable, some were good.
