Gillespie Drive 1063 Unit B by sdstay

What we liked: The unit was the perfect size for our family of four for a short stay. The bedroom layout worked very well for us, with one bedroom containing a queen bed and the second bedroom containing a queen bed and a full bed. Check-in was easy, Wi-Fi was simple to use, and the air conditioning worked great. The full-size washer and dryer, along with the provided laundry detergent, fabric softener, toiletries, and cleaning supplies, were appreciated. The backyard was small but very cute, and the large parking area was convenient.

Areas for improvement: The cleanliness did not meet expectations, especially considering the cleaning fee. Multiple kitchen cabinets contained opened and expired food, which appeared to contribute to a gnat problem. The cooking utensils we checked were dirty and covered with grease or dust, requiring washing before use. The floors were dirty enough that white socks quickly turned black. Several items needed repair, including a broken trash can, unstable furniture, and loose floorboards that created a trip-and-fall hazard. The kitchen table and chairs also blocked the refrigerator door from opening fully. The towels were thin and well worn. I also asked about extending our stay by one additional night and was quoted approximately $489, with an additional $100 fee for checking in just a few hours early. Considering the overall cost of the stay and the cleaning fee, I felt those additional charges were excessive.

The hosts truly made our stay special—they were absolutely wonderful, deeply caring, and fantastic communicators! The surrounding area has a bustling, urban vibe, and our stay went perfectly smoothl with zero issues

The property itself is cozy, though it does have a few minor cosmetic areas that could use a touch-up, and a couple of amenities which differed slightly from the description.
