The host has anticipated guest requirements and ensured that the minimum required to enjoy one's stay is provided for. For example, there's a drinking water dispenser, tea AND sugar (which for tea lovers is a definite hit) and good Internet connectivity.
The apartment was impeccably clean.
This may have been a procedural hiccup, but the guard who was instructed to take me to the apartment insisted on first knowing whether I had settled my bill. I politely told him that that's between me and the host. He did his due diligence by calling the host to verify. As stated, this might be purely process between the host and the guards.
