Podere Papèra - Chianti hills

Appartamento pulito, con tutto il necessario per un soggiorno di un paio di settimane. Posizione comoda se si ha un’auto e si vogliono visitare piccoli borghi nel Chianti o città Toscane come Siena o Firenze. Personale molto disponibile e gentile.

Nelle giornate molto molto calde il condizionatore fa difficoltà a mantenere la stanza fresca.

The location is great, close to vineyards and villages and the views from the property are amazing. Very friendly staff too. Nice big pool also.

The air con struggled with the heatwave which wasn’t ideal but was fine. My only complaint like I’ve seen before is all the random friends and family using the pool on the weekend especially. Some of them were really rude. Some guests tried to play in the pool but one of the other people said “no games, this is a swimming pool for swimming”. She then took up all the shallow end of the pool with her friends standing and talking which didn’t even allow people to swim.

La beauté de l’endroit / la tranquillité

We had a good stay overall, with several things that stood out. The location is very central, the pool is big, the bed was comfortable, and the internet connection was very stable. Parking was also very easy. The place was generally clean, apart from a few ants in the bathrooms, which can be expected.

The AC was unfortunately not strong enough to cool the entire place comfortably, especially during warmer periods. When we mentioned this to the host, it was initially pointed out that we were the first guests to raise the issue before it was looked into- unfortunately not solved. Overall, we found the interaction with the host to be more transactional than welcoming, particularly compared with some of the other Italian places we’ve stayed. The pool became quite crowded over the weekend and appeared to also be used by friends and family who were not staying at the property. This made the pool feel less private and relaxing for guests. Overall, the property has some great practical advantages, but there are a few areas that could be improved to make the experience more welcoming.
