Jm Stay Aveiro

That's a nice place in a nice area of Aveiro - all the interesting places are a short walk away from it, there is a decent-sized supermarket quite close, there is street parking (which I suggest you use instead of that horrific free one close, with scammers running around) costing around 1 EUR per hour, but since it's free between 20:00 and 08:00 and on weekends, you end up paying 12 EUR per weekday max, which is quite good, in my opinion. When it comes to the apartment itself, we were thrilled to see the water cooler inside. After rating numerous apartments in the last 15 years when travelling (7 countries per year, on average, with 2-4 cities per country, usually), I have never seen anyone giving that amount of water to his/her visitors - we didn't need to carry those heavy water bottles from the store. The apartment was spacious enough, and the bathrooms were either renovated recently or just kept well all this time. We enjoyed our stay here.

Nothing was bad, really. If I need to name one thing, then it would have been nice to have the outside area cleaned, since walking without shoes in there wasn't a great idea. Some will complain that it's noisy, but that's the price you pay for sleeping 2 meters away from the road. We were fine. Some will likely say that not having a washing machine was a problem, but we didn't expect it after seeing all the photos beforehand. Some might complain that you have to walk to the free parking place, but I always prefer paid convenience myself, so I don't really care. Objectively, there wasn't anything making us regret our choice of staying here.

The location suited us really well being situated on the edge of the more commercial areas, and the older parts of town with restaurants and bars. As such it was surprisingly quiet at the front and pretty peaceful out the back. It was easy to access the station and local buses to explore the area. We liked the layout of the apartment for 2 couples. The apartment had most of the kitchen utensils we needed and a ready supply of washing up liquid and laundry detergent. We loved the water cooler and it was great to have a full size fridge. A good coffee machine was also a bonus

No real complaints but a bit of feedback: we could have done with an additional mirror in each bedroom as the only ones were in bathrooms and subject to steaming up. We didn't watch TV but even if we had wanted to - they were mounted too high on the wall for comfortable viewing and the sofa is at the wrong angle. The drains were a bit smelly but perhaps the apartment hadn't been occupied in a while.
