Modern Apartment in Luton

Very compact but perfect for my needs. Very clean and everything I needed.

Maybe a little tired but I only wrote this ‘cos you’re asking. It didn’t bother me at all.

This ground floor one bedroom apartment is small and basic but has everything that you would need for a short stay. There is a large bedroom with a double bed at one end and a single bed at the other end. The bathroom has an electric shower, toilet and hand basin. The kitchen has a small table and three chairs, gas oven and stove, microwave, kettle, and toaster. We didnt need the washing machine, but it was nice to see one there. There was a clothes line in the alleyway outside the door to the apartment. There was tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, sponge, t-towel, shower gel, hand wash, towels, bin bags, and other essentials provided. Our host was lovely, and very responsive when messaged. Luton airport is less than 10 minutes drive away. For the same price as a hotel room, you get a lot more for your money here. In addition, the house is directly under the flight path for the airport. My son loves to plane spot and got amazing photos from the garden. However, if you don't like plane engine noise, be aware that it can be fairly constant for most of the day and evening. This was a bonus feature for us, though. Please note that you need to arrange and pay for parking on the driveway with the host in addition to the price of the accommodation.

The lack of plugs and reliance on extension leads freaked me out a bit, but this is probably more to do with my level of fire safety training than there being any major risk.

1. Location: 10 minutes away from the airport with personal car. 2. Location: a quiet street (well, aside that loud party somewhere nearby that ended around 22:00) 3. The property: big enough to accommodate 3 people, garden in the back, very well fitted kitchen with all required amenities, microwave, oven, fridge/freezer, kettle, etc. 4. Beds: firm enough for me and my partner and comfortable pillows- this is always subjective.

1. Parking on the street is a hit and miss. Arrived earlier than the rest of the group, went after them at the airport and 30 minutes later I had to find another spot. Annoying at least. 2. Not a fan of self check-in process, is always something that either is problematic at checkin or at checkout. This time was smooth but is always nagging me: if I didn’t lock it properly? 3. No direct human interaction, but fast response online, to be fair. 4. Bedroom is missing enough space for luggage and clothing- just a rack for few clothes. 5. No AC provided, but two turbo fans in the room - at max for hours and still unable to cool down sufficiently for a restful sleep. 6. The table corner is too small for 3 people, you have to move around to make room for all. 7. Bathroom: the electrical shower needs some instructions- luckily I have experience with these and was able to start it, but for someone that didn’t used one before, it will be a mystery. 8. Shower: 30 seconds hot, 30 seconds cold - I really hate it! Highly recommend replacing it with gas heating unit or something simpler and more reliable for the customers. 9. Toilet - missing a support nearby for other items, like intimate gel. You know you can buy a small bidet for £30 from Amazon, that can be mounted on the toilet? 10. Towels - one was really rough and the other was smelly… 11. And finally- really noisy starting 4:00 - 4:30 AM when airplanes started to fly.

Couldn’t get the tv to work, it was a long walk to the high st for a cafe, local shop, in a very long road. The fan didn’t work and it was hot although host did offer to replace.
