During my 15 days stay everything was superb except for 1 noisy night due to bad renters. But the owner is keeping well under control.

We stayed in the room with the balcony and massage chair. It is truly a lovely space, I love the vintage vibe, it is clean and aesthetically pleasing. The price is well pitched in the market. The massage chair is a great feature.

A couple small details for improvement and unfortunately a bad experience that has impacted my review. Small and easy things to be improved: - the water in the shower does not get completely hot, using the bath would not be possible. - there are many mosquitoes inside - I killed at least 10 in one night! - the bed is too soft (sinks inward) and so you wake with a sore back My experience: We stayed one night. My husband had to leave for the airport at 11pm. I went outside to say goodbye to him on the street and returned alone to the room. Within 3 minutes of him leaving (maybe even less!) someone began knocking at the door. I was afraid as this is not a hotel but rather a home in a local neighbourhood. I messaged my husband to see if it was him coming back for something, he said it wasn’t and said to keep the door closed no matter what. We both had the same thought - someone saw me on the street and realised I was now there alone. It was the “butler”. He said he needed payment. I don’t know why he waited until 11pm at night, or after my husband left to ask this, instead of waiting until the morning. I found it unprofessional and as a female alone, quite frankly terrifying. I managed to get the payment details by WhatsApp, refusing to open the door to a strange man late at night, and paid immediately. My husband said if he comes back after that to call the police. I slept with the door boobie trapped so if someone came in I would wake up. This may seem like an overreaction but I would have done the same thing if this happened in my home country of Australia. I don’t think men understand what it is like being a woman travelling alone. Things do genuinely happen. And this, while it may have just been an innocent misunderstanding, is not how you make guests feel safe and comfortable. I’m sharing this not to discourage people from staying here, but so that the staff and owner can hopefully learn and ensure this never happens again.
