A bit noisy if you open the windows

The reservation process and check in instructions were clear and well communicated. Keys were secured in an external location with detailed directions provided. Communications around arrival were excellent and the flat access areas are secure, clean, and well maintained. This is a recent build and the location of the accommodation is superb, with a balcony overlooking Clissold Park. The flat is bright, spacious, comfortable, and well-stocked with kitchen equipment. It is very clean and pleasantly decorated.

Keys were very easy to pick up, but not easy to use. The security fob worked well in two locations but the door key was very difficult to use. The lock and handle mechanism was identical to the back door at my home, so I knew how to work it. However it took many attempts to gain entry, which was stressful. After getting in I worked with the lock for a while to try to understand the locking technique. It was very unreliable so I called the help line at Houst. She talked me through what I was already doing and sent me a video which showed me that I was doing everything correctly but that the lock mechanism itself was inconsistent. We managed to become confident that it would open and lock eventually after enough attempts that we were able to secure the flat upon departure. Another major issue was the A/C. The temperature was impossible to control and the flat became increasingly uncomfortably warm through the evening. We spent and hour online late at night trying to understand how to manage the thermostat to no avail. We opened the balcony doors to try to let cool evening air in, but this was not sustainable on account of night insects. The room temperature rose to 28 degrees in all areas of the flat and the bedroom was oppressively warm. There was nothing we could do to reset the temperature control in any way that made a difference. The next day I went out and bought an oscillating pedestal fan on a tall stand at a cost of £35. This helped us to sleep. After we checked out of the accommodation we donated the fan to a family member who lives nearby. The bathroom sink wouldn't drain and we used the kitchen sink to wash and brush teeth etc. This was not great but seemed like a minor inconvenience after the other issues.
