The Blue Crab - Beach Retreat & Chill Spot!

Good location. It is not ON the beach but is clearly described in the listing. The beach is a short walk from the house but Surfside/Freeport is so easy to access the beach by car we were not worried about walking to the beach. The fenced yard is great if you're traveling with dogs but still needs a proper gate and the fence panels have openings that will not secure a large dog. So I had to keep our smaller dog on leash but it was so nice to have an actual yard for them to go out. The house is nice and exceptionally clean. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are nice, and the tv/wifi/streaming works well. Oh and the air conditioner works extremely well, the kitchen is well appointed, and the washer/dryer is nice.

They still need to have a proper gate on that fence. This is the second time we've stayed at this house and the fence just has a loose panel as a "gate". That is a simple fix that would make it a lot nicer for those traveling with dogs. I also have to say the pet fee is reasonable and is mentioned in the listing but the exact amount is not divulged until you book the property and paid for outside the booking.com app. It would be nice if it were completely disclosed up front and handled within the booking app instead of a separate transaction.

Exceptionally clean, good location, very comfortable, good air conditioner, bath tub in one bathroom shower only in the other, *mostly* fenced yard.

The fenced yard has one panel that is just wired up, one panel that isn’t attached to posts at all. Also it is cattle panels with pretty large openings that a small dog could slip through. It was workable to have a place for our dogs to potty but only under supervision. If they would fix that wired up panel, add a proper gate, and put something with a finer mesh along the bottom it would be much more dog owner friendly. Also the actual pet charge is only disclosed after booking. It turned out to be $100/dog for the whole stay with a 2 dog limit. I didn’t mind the charge I just don’t like how it isn’t disclosed up front without having to contact the property manager.

We were booked for 8 nights but only supplied 3 dishwasher pods and very small quantity of washing up liquid. There was no bowl or drainer only a giant sink. Travelling from the uk we were not going to bring our own.

The location was convenient. I am big on electronics so I really enjoyed the googles, tv size, and the surround sound. The beds were very cozy. I liked the fact that there was plenty of space to sit.

I didn't like the water pressure when taking a shower. It required me to take a longer shower just to get all of the soap off.
