Motel 6 Baltimore, MD

I don’t even know where to start with this review. They gave me a very hard time checking in because the room was accidentally booked under another name, even though my name was on the card used to purchase the reservation. Maybe that’s the safety thing and I get it. The man at the front desk could speak very little English to the point where I couldn’t understand him and it made it difficult to get my problem solved. Agoda however, was very helpful and got the problem solved quickly. When I was finally able to check in, they tried to force me to pay a $50 security deposit. I informed them that that is not how it works when you book through the service. He went back-and-forth on me trying to bargain with me saying $20. I told him I have no money. All of my money was spent on the reservation through agoda I have used this site for booking many times and I’ve never ever had. Anyone asked me for a cash deposit, even when it was required for a normal booking. My biggest complaint that was nowhere in the description of this hotel. The owner told me I was not allowed to have guests and that if anyone else came to my room, I would be thrown out and he would call the police. I reserved my room for three days and paid upfront however, I had to get my key remade every day at 11 o’clock. On the day of my check out (11am) I was gathering my stuff from the room to the car at 11: oh one they started ringing my Room phone. I figured just let it ring. I’ll be out of here in a minute. It’ll be fine, they actually had an employee come down to my room (I know they saw me packing my car) and told me if I wasn’t out in five minutes my card would be charged an extra hundred dollars. The room had no refrigerator in the microwave or hair dryer. The only amenities they offered was a little bar of soap. The location was great, however there were people very, obviously on drugs sitting in their car in the parking lot passed out, slumped over the wheel. I was only there three days and saw the cops four times. The rooms were not clean at all the toilet was clogged. One positive thing I can say is I did not see any roaches, bedbugs or mice. However, outside of my room, there was an infestation of flies. I couldn’t even walk in and out of my room without flies getting in. They do sell refreshments at the front desk however I think a dollar for a can soda is a bit much seeing as this hotel has very little to offer.
