Charlis Place Ellijay isn’t your typical mountain cabin. Designed across three unique levels, the home gives you space to gather when you want to be together—and plenty of places to escape when you simply want to relax.
The Chill Spot | Covered Outdoor Lower Level
One of our favorite spaces is tucked beneath the deck: The Chill Spot.
This covered outdoor gathering area was made for laid-back mountain evenings. Grab a drink, play a few games, enjoy good conversation, or simply relax outdoors while staying protected from the elements. As evening arrives, solar string lights add a warm glow to the space.
From here, wander over to the fire pit for coffee, cocoa and conversation around the fire, or head inside to the lower level for even more ways to unwind.
Lower Level | Play, Workout & Unwind
Movie night? Game night? Workout? Quiet time? This level gives everyone options.
Settle in around the 85-inch Smart TV for a movie or your favorite show. Our private mini gym includes an elliptical, pull-up/power-dip station, dumbbells, medicine balls and workout bench—perfect for guests who don’t want vacation to interrupt their fitness routine.
Need to catch up on laundry during a longer stay? A full-size washer and dryer are available with complimentary detergent, fabric softener and dryer sheets.
There’s also a custom wood workstation with a lamp and power strip if you need to check in with work before getting back to vacation.
For additional sleeping space, the oversized sofas are exceptionally comfortable, and the daybed converts into a queen-size bed.

This level also includes a queen bedroom with an adjoining full bathroom and shower, along with an electric fireplace that adds just the right amount of mountain-cabin coziness.
Whether you’re soaking in the hot tub, gathering at the Chill Spot, working out, grilling dinner, sitting around the fire pit or simply watching the mountains through those A-frame windows, Charlis Place was designed to give you more than somewhere to sleep—it gives you somewhere to experience.

Guest Access
Charlis Place is yours to enjoy! Guests have access to the entire home and its indoor and outdoor spaces, including the decks, Chill Spot, hot tub, mini gym, fire pit and other amenities.
Entry is easy and convenient through the main level using your private keyless entry code, so you can arrive, settle in and immediately start enjoying your mountain getaway.
And don’t forget to explore beyond the cabin! Beautiful Carters Lake is just minutes away for fishing, boating, picnicking or simply enjoying the scenery. We even provide a picnic basket—pack it up and make a day of it! Picnic tables are also available near the boat ramp.
For a peaceful walk surrounded by nature, visit nearby Tumbling Waters Trail and experience even more of the beauty of the North Georgia mountains.

Relax & Enjoy the Hot Tub
The hot tub is here for you to enjoy! A few simple precautions will help keep the experience safe and relaxing:
Please rinse off before entering and use the hot tub at your own risk.
Maximum occupancy is 4 guests at a time.
Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
For your safety, avoid alcohol, drugs, or medications that may cause drowsiness while using the hot tub.
Please use only plastic or non-breakable drinkware around the hot tub—no glass.
We recommend limiting each soak to approximately 15–30 minutes to help prevent overheating.
When finished, securely replace the hot tub cover to maintain the temperature and keep the water clean.
If anything doesn’t appear to be working properly, please stop using the hot tub and message us through VRBO so we can assist.
For emergencies, please call 911.
Enjoy the Mini Gym
Our private mini gym is available to registered guests age 18 and older. Please enjoy the space responsibly and leave it ready for the next workout.
Wear appropriate workout clothing and athletic shoes, and use equipment only as intended. For safety, please keep weights and equipment away from the mirror and do not remove gym equipment from the room.
After your workout, simply wipe down the equipment and mats you used and return weights and accessories to their designated places.
Water in a spill-proof bottle is welcome. Please keep food, alcohol and glass containers outside the gym.
If you’re unfamiliar with a piece of equipment, please don’t use it until you understand how to operate it safely. Let us know promptly if you notice damaged equipment or another safety concern.
Grilling at Charlis Place
Feel free to enjoy our propane grill during your stay. When you’re finished:
Make sure all burners and the propane supply are completely turned off.
Once the grill has cooled, use the provided grill brush to remove food residue from the grates.
Wipe away any grease or food from the grill surfaces, handles and side areas.
Empty and wipe the grease/drip tray when needed. Please do not pour grease down any drain.
Once the grill is completely cool and clean, securely replace the cover.
Dispose of used paper towels and other waste in the designated trash.
If the propane is running low or you experience an issue with the grill, simply message us so we can take care of it.
Before You Head Home
We hope you’ve had a wonderful stay! Checkout doesn’t need to be complicated. Before leaving, we simply ask that you help us with a few things:
Kitchen: Place used dishes, pots and pans in the dishwasher and start one cycle using one dishwasher pod. Hand-wash anything that isn’t dishwasher safe.
Trash: Place trash and recycling in the designated bins and take them to the outdoor receptacle located to the right of the front door.
Lights & Thermostat: Turn off unnecessary lights before leaving. Please leave the front-door light on as it was when you arrived and follow any checkout instructions provided for the thermostat.
Doors & Windows: Close and secure all windows and exterior doors. The rear exterior doors can be a little tricky, so please secure them using the knob locks only.
Hot Tub & Outdoor Areas: Securely replace the hot tub cover, return any outdoor furniture you moved to its original location, and pick up any trash from the outdoor areas.
Towels & Linens: Place used towels by the laundry-room door in the basement. There’s no need to strip or remake the beds—our housekeeping team will take care of the linens for you.
Personal Belongings: Take one last look through drawers, closets, bathrooms, decks and outdoor areas to make sure nothing gets left behind.
Final Check: Follow the provided instructions for the keypad or lockbox, and send us a quick VRBO message letting us know you’ve checked out. If anything happened during your stay that needs our attention, please let us know so we can address it.
To help us maintain Charlis Place for all our guests, violations of the House Rules may result in an additional fee starting at $250, depending on the nature and severity of the violation and any related cleaning, repair, replacement, or other costs incurred.

The property and home are both amazing. We truly enjoyed our family stay and would love to come back. Our children were so sad to leave and will miss the hot tub. The owner is very responsive and so hospitable. You will not regret choosing this home for your stay.

We had an awesome time at this luxurious house waking up to a beautiful multi color sky view! The sounds of nature all around us while sitting in a modernized comfortable quaint home made this a trip of calmness and peace! We relaxed in the Hot Tub which was very romantic for us! This house is the perfect spot if you are looking for a nice place to relax!
