Swn Y Bae - pronounced 'Soon-uh-Bay', is a fab upside-down holiday property situated in the popular village of Rhosneigr, Anglesey. Accommodating up to six guests, this property boasts a spacious living area with breathtaking sea views, providing the perfect vantage point to watch the myriad of water sports unfolding on the waves.
As you enter the property, you'll find ample storage for your coats and bags, along with a utility area perfect for washing and storing wetsuits after a day at the beach. Access to the outdoor area at the back of the property is also through the utility room, where you’ll find a convenient outdoor shower to rinse off sandy feet, pets, and beach gear before heading inside. The ground floor features two comfortable bedrooms - a king and a twin - with a chill out room to unwind after a day of adventures. A modern shower room is also conveniently located on this level, ensuring everyone has the space they need to refresh and prepare for the day ahead.
Climb the stairs to the first-floor open-plan living area, where you'll be greeted by far-reaching views of the sea, Holyhead mountain, and the surrounding landscape. This space features a beautiful fire, perfect for keeping you warm as you relax and enjoy some people-watching in the evening. The living area opens out onto a glass-fronted terrace, ideal for savouring your morning coffee or hosting an evening BBQ while soaking in the stunning views. The stylish kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and offers access to another outdoor glass-balconied area, providing a wonderful spot for al fresco dining or simply unwinding in the fresh air. The first-floor king-size bedroom offers a private retreat, with French doors leading out to the same decked terrace as the living area, where you can wake up to glorious sea views.
Pets and children have a small patio garden, perfect for outdoor play.
The Neighborhood:
Rhosneigr (said: ROSS-nigh-ger) is one of the most dog-friendly villages on Anglesey. It's a foodie haven, a watersports mecca, and somehow packs bars, restaurants, independent shops and golden beaches into one small stretch of coastline curving round the village. Whether you're a couple, a family three generations deep, or bringing a dog who's never seen so much sand, it works.
It's on the pricier side, but one visit shows why. Two stunning beaches wrap the village, Traeth Crigyll and Traeth Llydan, the surf's some of the best on the Island, and the food punches well above its weight. Mornings belong to the water, with Funsport or Gecko Surf on the seafront covering surfing, kitesurfing and paddleboarding for all ages. Evenings bring cocktails, fresh food at the Blue Olive, or the Sandy Mount House or fish and chips from Scarletts on the high street, eaten on the beach or back at the house.
Getting Around:
Rhosneigr is best explored by car, with free parking available at the property and throughout the village. The nearest train station, just 5 minutes away at Ty Croes, connects you to Holyhead and Bangor

I have stayed here now 3 times and always look forward to my stay. The house has everything you need and arguably one of the best views in the village. It really doesnt need my review as its more or less booked solid 12 months in advance...

Another great stay. House is lovely. Views fantastic. Immaculate condition. Stairs are a little steep so if you have older family or dogs be aware of this.

Having stayed in various holiday homes over the years in Rhosneigr, this one did not disappoint. Clean, well equipped ( though an air fryer would be an added bonus ) and a lovely view.
My only negative thought is nothing to do with the property, but the time you can access it which is 5.00pm. Whilst I appreciate it has to be cleaned, prior to Covid the access times to holiday properties were earlier.
