Brilliant location, very co-operative and helpful hosts, well-equipped and spacious kitchen and living area, large COOL and comfortable bedrooms. It's like Nonna's Palazzo, stuffed with weird old redundant artifacts, and nothing like a fancy "designer" decorated apartment you might find in the same building for twice the rental money: this is a good old-fashioned Italian home, which happens to be in the very heart of a UNESCO Heritage site, diagonally opposite the Ducal Palace. If you prefer air-conditioned modern hotels, go to one - don't come here and complain. This place is heaven for lovers of history and honest cultural experiences - you sit around a marble-topped kitchen table that was made for rolling pasta, with the original metre-long rolling pin still nested in the table-frame!

The WiFi connection wasn't very reliable, and the modem signal didn't reach through the metre-thick walls of the ground-floor bedrooms, but it mostly worked upstairs ok. It would be helpful to have some clear rubbish-disposal information, especially at check-out time, as this information is necessary but currently not very clear for guests.

Quella casa è un pezzo di storia. Due stanze da letto monumentali al piano terra, salotto elegante al primo piano, bagno funzionale, comoda stanza singola, ampia cucina attrezzata - peccato non avere più tempo per godersela.

Appalling check in ( zero help from the host. She sent us to travel agent the bottom of the hill. That was the first and only time we knew about the agent) The place was musty smelling, with not enough pillows. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. Lighting was very dim.
