Gites Rue Du Chateau

We simply loved it. This has been by far the best stay of our holiday so far. The gite and its grounds are something out of a fairytale. The hosts are super friendly. The house is wonderful: beautifully decorated and thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need. We had the whole place to ourselves. It's such a shame we stayed for only one night.

Fantastic location, near the center of Ruffec, with a beautiful large garden and half a forest at your disposal. Secure parking on the property. From Ruffec, you can take lovely trips through the Charente, visiting all those lovely villages or taking day trips to the coast or cities like Angouleme or Cognac. Anna & Ian are an incredibly hospitable couple, with whom I immediately connected (which is very nice as a woman traveling alone). The gite is beautifully decorated, clean, and had everything I could wish for; it really made me feel at home.

Absolutely nothing! I enjoyed my stay there so much that I am planning to return again next year in Spring.

I loved the traditionally French look of the gîte I stayed in (sunflower cottage) It was exceptionally clean and everything had been thought through with the welcome goodies a bonus! The tv has English apps, the shower was excellent with great water pressure and it was great I didn't have to go out to buy teabags, milk, washing up liquid, cling film etc so it saved me worrying about having to shop for anything except my meals. The English hosts, Ian and Anna, are a delight. I was immediately made very welcome and even offered to join them for evening conversation as I was alone. It's in a very quiet area but only a short walk into the centre of the town which has everything you may need. There is parking on site and I felt very safe there, which is a big deal as a lone woman traveller. The garden is lovely with cute bug hotels built in the woodland that is part of the grounds. I didn't try the pool as it was still a little cold being March. All in all I will definitely be back here when visiting this area in the future. Thank you so much for the wonderful welcome and for making me feel so comfortable.

There was nothing I didn't like about this place. Everything was tiptop!
