The hotel has good facilities and staff, but very poor cleaning standards
I had very high expectations for Hotel Indigo by IHG in Auckland, as it was the final stop of our honeymoon. The hotel itself is modern, well-located, and the restaurant is very good. The manager, Long, was extremely kind, professional, and genuinely helpful.
Unfortunately, our experience started very poorly. We were initially given the wrong room — not the one we had reserved. It was an accessible room with a very uncomfortable layout, a curtain instead of a proper shower enclosure, and a very small bathroom that did not meet our expectations for a honeymoon stay. What truly ruined the experience was the cleanliness. When we entered the bathroom, we found two used condoms left behind by previous guests. This was shocking, extremely unpleasant, and made us seriously question the hygiene standards. Such a situation is unacceptable, especially for a hotel belonging to a major chain like IHG. By that time it was already late at night (around 11pm) after a long flight, so changing hotels was not really an option. The next day, Long handled the situation very well — he moved us to another room and offered complimentary breakfast, which we appreciated. However, the damage to our last honeymoon night was already done.

Staff friendly and helpful
Room poorly designed with gaps behind bathroom basin and behind TV. Easy to lose things. Light switch set up poor. Room small and cramped. Foyer small and often cramped with waiting guests. No record at Hotel of our stay earlier in year at Indigo in Potts Point Sydney. So inter hotel record keeping poor.

Hygiene clean Tidy Hotel Indigo Auckland
The bed linen-sheets-pillow were very comfortable and of course the bed-mattress- comfortable, very much liked the bath- clean and tidy-the shower facility was very good,over all I am happy with my stay at Hotel Indigo Auckland. Brett O'Reilly

Nice hotel in central location
Excellent location, nice restaurants in the area, excellent breakfast & very helpful staff. We picked a corner harbor view room and loved looking out over the city. Everything was clean, great shower, very comfortable bed.
No local or national TV channels. The TV required you to set up to stream your own apps via google & with our travel plan we were not equipped to pair phones with TVs.

I had a great time, will be coming back when next i come to New Zealand.
I liked the friendliness and warmth of the staff. The hotel room was exceptionally clean, and the location of the hotel made it easy to access resturants, shopping mall and super markets.
