Pet friendly. Rustic cabin in good location. There’s a huge mouse population on the West Shore. Kept our cat entertained every night but finding droppings all over the kitchen was unappealing. Furniture and mattresses extremely worn out. Curved interior stairs inconvenient especially if carrying anything. No dishwasher. Everything including carpet needs deep cleaning. Screens all loose, so unable to open windows fully to allow this beautiful fresh air in or the cat would escape (to chase the mice that live underneath the cabin). No vacuum cleaner supplied.

My friend, pup, and I stayed at this charming cabin over a long weekend. We had a great time! The cabin was clean and cozy. We loved the wood burning fireplace! We also loved that we were walking distance to the local market and restaurants. There’s also lake access close by. This didn’t bother us at all, but the staircase is steep and narrow and the only bathroom was downstairs, which could be an issue if anyone has mobility limitations. Would definitely stay here again!

Overall we enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin is cute and cozy. They have it stocked full of a variety of dvd’s which we enjoyed in the evening along with their wood burning stove. When we weren’t watching the dvds we enjoyed watching the fire and watching the snow fall at night out the living room windows. The cabin is in a nice, quiet neighborhood, but it was cold and snowy. It may be different in the summer when it’s warmer and more people are outside or have their windows open. We enjoyed skiing at Homewood which was ridiculously close by and easy to get to. We brought our own food, so we were pleased with the well equipped functioning kitchen. The only down side was that some of the pots and pans had either not been well washed after the last use, or had been sitting so long unused that they felt a bit greasy and dusty. But, no big deal, I just washed them before using them, which I would have done anyway. The wifi didn’t work which was good for our son, as he was forced to take a break from his computer, but bad because we couldn’t call or send or receive any messages. In an emergency, we would have been in a bad way. We were truly off the grid. Also some instructions re how the universal remote for the tv and DVD player worked would have been nice as it caused some annoyance and frustration figuring it out by trial and error. Nonetheless, we had a great time. The cabin was great, and we hope to come again sometime.

This cabin was great for our relaxing week in Tahoe and had everything we needed. Full kitchen, grill, washer and dryer was really nice since we were there for a week. While it is a bit older it did make it feel more like an actual cabin which I liked a lot. The patio is nice with the lighting during the evening. One morning we woke up to a momma bear and baby out back so just be cautious of early morning outings. It was a central location as we drove all over the area and around the lake during our stay. If you wake up early be sure to head down to the private dock to catch an amazing sunrise! Communication with the host was a breeze!
