The Stables, Hasketon

It’s a beautifully refurbished stable, finished with a real eye for detail. There’s everything you need for a comfortable stay, and the rooms are wonderfully decorated, with a comfy sofa, exceptional bedding and pretty much all the amenities you could want from a self-catering property. I’d happily return and would recommend it to friends and family. If you’re looking for a quaint, understated bolthole for exploring Suffolk—simple in the best possible sense, rather than basic—you’d struggle to find much better!

Very little. Communication was good overall, although the original address took me to the wrong location. What3Words was helpful once I realised where I needed to be, but it wasn’t especially easy to use for navigation while driving. In the end, I headed towards Secret Meadows Glamping and found the property from there. The only other small point is that, given thoughtful basics such as tea bags, coffee, olive oil and dishwasher tablets are provided, I was slightly surprised there wasn’t any shampoo or shower gel, although there was hand soap. I appreciate that may be expecting a little too much from a self-catering property, but it felt like a slight omission compared with everything else that had been so carefully considered. I’d brought my own, but it’s worth future guests being aware.

We enjoyed a fantastic stay in this recently renovated detached and small house. Well equipped, comfortable beds and everything you need in the kitchen. Very quiet location close to Woodbridge and the local pub The Turks Head. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back again.

Great location for our weekend away, very tastefully decorated and furnished with an old world charm. The shower was lovely and powerful. We appreciated the info on what was provided and the bottle of wine was a lovely bonus. We loved watching the wildlife in the pond whilst we had our breakfast.

Beautifully and lovingly restored 19th century (if not older) stables courtesy of Helen and John our hosts. We were given a warm welcome, but left us in peace to enjoy our weekend. Well equipped and imacculately clean, with everything you could need for a short stay. Great location for walking in the peaceful countryside, we really enjoyed our walk to the church in Hasketon village. Plenty of wildlife to spot too. We also spent an afternoon in the nearby town of Woodbridge. Highly recommended.

Perhaps a wood burner, but that's nitpicking. It was really lovely and snug enough without it.
