Tranquil Pines Retreat

We chose this cabin because of its beautiful mountain location, and the views did not disappoint. Tucked away in a peaceful setting, the property offered privacy, tranquility, and a welcome escape from the city. The scenery was breathtaking, and we especially enjoyed spending time on the balcony taking in the mountain landscape. The location and views are truly beautiful, and this cabin has tremendous potential. While there are several housekeeping, maintenance, safety, and pest-control issues that should be addressed, we appreciate the excellent customer service provided by the Vacasa team and hope the owner will make the necessary improvements so future guests can fully enjoy this mountain retreat. I would also like to recognize the Vacasa staff for their professionalism and responsiveness. After checking out, I realized that I had accidentally left my Apple Watch behind. I communicated with the Vacasa team via text, and throughout the entire exchange they were attentive, courteous, professional, and genuinely apologetic regarding the concerns we experienced during our stay. They kept me informed every step of the way, and the following day I received confirmation that my Apple Watch had been found. Their prompt communication and commitment to assisting guests left a very positive impression.

Unfortunately, several issues affected our stay. Upon arrival, we noticed a strong musty odor throughout the house, and the bed linens also had a musty smell. We were further concerned to find that several linens appeared to have been left unfolded in a closet, as though they had simply been stored there after the previous guests departed. Because the linens did not seem fresh and had an unpleasant odor, we took it upon ourselves to wash many of them before use. As paying guests, we did not expect to spend part of our stay laundering linens, and this level of housekeeping fell short of what we would consider standard. The loft was a wonderful addition to the cabin and provided a unique place to relax. However, it could benefit from improved ventilation or airflow, as it became noticeably warm and stuffy. We were also startled to discover a mouse in the loft area, which understandably raised concerns about pest control. We were also disappointed to find that there was no outdoor seating on the balcony. Given the spectacular views, we were surprised that there were no lawn chairs or comfortable seating available for guests to relax and enjoy the scenery. Fortunately, we had brought our own lawn chairs, which allowed us to fully appreciate one of the property's greatest features. Had we not brought them, we would have missed out on enjoying the view in comfort. The refrigerator was not cooling properly during our visit. Drinks and bottled water did not stay cold in the refrigerator section, and we had to place them in the freezer to keep them chilled. Several chairs in the game room were broken and appeared to be in a dilapidated condition. These damaged chairs presented a potential safety hazard, as guests could risk injury if they were to collapse during normal use. We hope the owner will consider repairing or replacing the damaged furniture so future guests can safely enjoy the space.
