Chambre atypique dans café healthy

I decided a year ago that I was going to make this trip and when I looked through all the descriptions, I instantly got a good feeling about this venue as I love quirkiness and healthy food - so knew this would be my place! St Paul de Vence is completely wonderful and it was very special to be staying inside the old city and to feel part of the neighbourhood. It was also a real experience to be staying in a charming, old cafe - especially as this atmospheric place gets to be all yours after hours. The owner and staff were very welcoming and prepared me a hearty portion of some very delicious food during my stay and plied me with a nice welcome drink. I was aware of this from reading the reviews, but it's worth reiterating that you need to be somewhat nimble and not too tall to stay here. The bedroom has beams in the ceiling - if you are under 5"9 you'll be fine. If you are taller, you will need to be careful not to bump your head. Access to the bedroom floor is via a ladder. I would recommend having a bag each time you go up and down to make it easier to carry things, as you'll want at least one hand free to steady yourself. You need to step over a metre high ridge to get into the bath/ shower - so not for you if you struggle with balance or have problems lifting your legs high. It's a sit-down shower. Never tried one before, but it worked great! The toilet is on the ground floor, so involves coming down both a ladder and stairs from the bedroom. Once I got used to the set up, I enjoyed the adventure of it! The view from the bedroom is quite incredible - fantastic view of big skies and the beautiful landscape. I am a light sleeper, so also appreciated the peacefulness of the place. No cars going past to wake me as it's a traffic-free village!

The owner is very aware of my complaint. I picked up the keys with no problem from the designated place. This was all very easy - however, I had great difficulty opening the front door. When it did open, the key got stuck in the lock and wouldn't come out, Within a few minutes of a distressed phonecall, I had a neighbour and worker from the cafe come to help. They also had to try a few times, before things worked. In short, it's a somewhat temperamental front door and there's a bit of a technique involved in getting in - plus some trial and error. I was feeling more attuned to the door and its ways by the end, but it made for a very stressful arrival. I asked the owner if this was a common problem - apparently, only one other guest has had a problem with this previously, so you may be lucky. I would advise, if possible, to arrive while the cafe is open, so someone can be on hand to give you a quick tutorial with the lock.

Ottima la posizione in pieno centro. Suggerito per una breve permanenza (una notte).

Sebbene l'alloggio sia dog-friendly, la camera è ubicata al secondo piano ed è accessibile mediante una scala a pioli, inutilizzabile dal nostro cane. Il bagno è suddiviso fra piano terra e primo piano ed è lo stesso che, durante l'orario di apetura, è a disposizione dei clienti della sala da tè.

Mal eine ganz andere Unterkunft, kleine Wohnung im zweiten Stock. Inhaber einfach grandios freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alles sehr klein, aber die Lage ist der Hammer. Wenn alle Touristen weg sind, ist man gefühlt allein im Dorf

Location was good.

The heat in the building, everything was hot and sticky and the noisy air cond in my bedroom.
