Staying at São Lourenço Guest House in Madeira was truly the highlight of our trip. The property is stunning, peaceful, and spotless, with everything thoughtfully arranged for comfort and relaxation. But what made it unforgettable was the host—so warm, welcoming, and helpful, going above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience possible. From local tips to daily check-ins, their kindness made us feel completely at home. It was hands down the best stay we’ve ever had, and we can’t wait to return!

It was very clean and the property manager was friendly, speaks only Portuguese but used a google translator so all was good. It is located on a steep road so it was tricky turning in or parking. It was a fun adventure entering because you are given a series of codes to open doors to go to your room because there is no reception. You need to drive for groceries.

No problems, though be aware there is no reception of any sort. Parking is hit or miss, be prepared to park a few hundred metres away. One needs to be able to negotiate stairs (may be an issue to some).
