Communication before arrival was very poor. It took multiple messages for me to receive the mandatory form required before they would send the access codes, and this was only finally provided around 10 minutes before my scheduled check-in. Unfortunately, the stay itself was also disappointing. On the first night of my four-night booking, a storm caused a power outage in the building that lasted for the remaining three days. While I understand that the outage itself was not the owner’s fault, the lack of proactive customer service was. I had to repeatedly contact them to find out what had happened, whether there were any updates, and if or when the issue might be resolved. There was a brief suggestion that I could be relocated, but when I asked for further details (where I would be moved to, what the accommodation would be like, and whether the area was safe), I received no response until I followed up again. Even then, my questions were not answered; instead, I was asked what date I was checking out. By that point, I only had one night remaining, and I heard nothing further from them. It felt as though, once payment had been received, there was little interest in providing support. As a result, I paid for a studio with air conditioning, TV, fridge, cooking facilities, and a shower, none of which I could properly use due to the lack of electricity — I couldn’t even reliably charge my phone or take a hot shower. Additionally, a few days before arrival I asked whether I could store my suitcase, and was told this would be possible. However, on the day itself I was informed that this facility was not available. Overall, the experience was frustrating and stressful, mainly due to poor communication and a lack of customer care during a genuine problem.
