Waren, the City of the Seven Lakes. Waren is located on Lake Müritz, the largest inland lake entirely within German territory. With an area of 117 km², it is bordered by Lake Kölpin, Lake Tiefwaren, Lake Feisneck, Lake Melzer, and Lake Waupack.
The Herrensee is located right in the center of town. Virtually surrounded by water, Waren an der Müritz has blossomed into a beautiful town over the past 20 years. Unlike in many towns in Mecklenburg, the old town is very well-preserved and has been beautifully restored.
The harbor in Waren an der Müritz is a successful project. Looking at the many pleasure boats and passenger ships, it’s impossible not to feel a touch of the Mediterranean.
Waren—swimming, hiking, boating—nowhere is more beautiful than in Waren. This slogan from the 1920s is as relevant today as ever. And it can be expanded in countless ways: diving and surfing schools, horseback riding stables, bowling alleys, fitness centers for the active, restaurants, beach resorts, the harbor promenade, and the old town for leisurely strolls—Waren on Lake Müritz offers something for every taste.
