For our parents 50th wedding anniversary they wanted to have the entire family celebrate in Italy. For 2 years we researched and planned. Finding a place for 12 people to stay and not feel like we were on top of each other was very important since we would be together for two weeks. When I found Villa Avesa I knew there was something special about this property. It was full of charm, beauty and checked off every box of what we were looking for. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped and the pool was a great place for relaxing days at the Villa. The owners were amazing from the very beginning. They answered every question we had quickly and made great suggestions on things to do and where to go. We threw a celebration party at the villa and at the owners suggestion hired the best chef to come and cook a 5 course meal. This property was the perfect location with its outdoor dining space! We hired a photographer to take family pictures around the property, I highly suggest doing this!! This location was perfect as a home base to visit Lake Garda, Verona and Venice. The people of Avesa were so welcoming, we would walk down to the cafe each morning for a cappuccino, pastry and then head to the market and bakery. We enjoyed every minute of our vacation at Villa Avesa and would highly recommend this property to anyone!

Villa Avesa was everything we had hoped it would be, it accommodated 18 of us which included 4 children with lots of space to give people private time if they needed. The host Filiberto was superb he was around if needed, very kind and helpful but never intrusive. We had booked the Villa so all the family could stay together as we celebrated our wedding at Malcesine Castle on Lake Garda. It was the perfect choice!

We were a group of 16. Villa Avesa is a wonderful tuscan villa with a lot of space. 2 wonderful terraces, one directly at the very good equipped kitchen, the other one a lounge by the large pool. The house has airconditioning which was very helpful during the hot weather we had. All in all we were very satisfied with our choice of Villa Avesa! Avesa is a nice suburb of Verona, only 10/15 minutes away from the Arena. And I would like to thank Filiberto for the hospitality ! We will definitely recommend Villa Avesa and will hopefully come back soon. Thank you!

The house was lovely and spacious. We cooked twice a day and the facilities were great. The rooms and bathroom were clean and in good condition. The grounds are gorgeous with vines everywhere. The owner is very nice and accommodating. We had a great time!

We arrived in the little area known as Avesa in Verona. The Villa Avesa was up on a hill overlooking the city of Verona with vineyards and olive orchards surrounding the property. The outside courtyards and pool were conducive to family gatherings. There were plenty of bathrooms and gathering spaces on each floor with a large dining area on the second floor where we hosted a wine tasting on night and a dinner for 20 cooked by a personal chef on another night. Walking trails around the property were enjoyed by all as was the pool. The “village” of Avesa had three restaurants—all very friendly— and tasty. The owner was always available to help.

We were a group of ten friends who went on a weekend trip to celebrate the birthday of one of us. In Villa Avesa we got what we were promised and even more! We had more than enough space and all the facilities we needed. The villa was clean and pretty and the surroundings were breathtaking. The villa gave us a great starting point for trips in the area and we also enjoyed the pool and gatherings around the dinner table. Filiberto and his daughter Anastasia helped us in every possible way. Anastasia even volunteered as a driver when we couldn't get a taxi when we were going to see the opera in Verona. All ten of us can recommend a stay at Villa Avesa!

Perfect place to check out the Verona/Lake Garda area. We loved it! Plenty of room for 9 of us with bedrooms to spare, we used it as a base to explore different cities in the area. We had a chef come in and cook dinner for us one night which was set up prior to us even arriving. Beautiful scenery and accommodations. The town of Avesa was also charming and had some nice restaurants as well. Would recommend renting a car to get around. The only minor negative would be that the water pressure in the bathrooms was very low. But who cares. Great place for groups!

The villa setting allows for you to feel secluded and far away while actually being close and convenient to transit into Verona and the amenities in Avesa. The property has ample space to relax outside by the pool or patio, or inside in comfortable living spaces by the fire. The grounds are beautiful along the hillside with views of Avesa and Verona, and is a wonderful place to stake a stroll through the grape vines or olive groves. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped to prepare and cook any meal. Previous reviews had complaints about hot water; Armelle explained that it takes a few minutes for the boiler to kick in and get the hot water flowing. There were no issues with hot water, after running the water a few minutes to get it hot, the hot water never ran out and everybody had hot showers/baths. Everyone in my family of 13 loved their stay at Villa Avesa and would love to visit again.

The Villa is in a great location, very peaceful, spacious and quaint. however, the following are issues that clearly detracted from our stay 1. Access to the property is off a long steep, dusty and unpaved drive. There were nine of us and we did not have a car therefore had to carry (cannot use the wheels on the cases) all the luggage to the house. The owner could see that this was an issue and the best thing would have been to meet us at the main gate with a car to help transport the luggage to the Villa a distance of approximately 200m, this was never offered either at the start or finish of our stay. 2. The plumbing in the house is poor ie. the dishwasher leaked, the fridge leaked, flushing any of the toilets was poor. Water came in a trickle from several showers. The Owner advised that it took 5mins for the hot water to come through this was more like 10mins+ 3. The AC in some of the rooms did not work properly 4. Each of the bathrooms were devoid of any toiletries not even a toilet roll. For a property that is well located and charging a premium it failed in our view to meet expectations and at best is rated 3 stars

Fantastic villa located outside Verona. Some narrow windy lanes to get there, especially in our hired minibus, but well worth it for the views alone. The Villa has a great mix of old Italian charm and modern design with some lovely traditionall farmhose features contrasting with the plate glass and metal construction of the second floor extension. The hosts were extremely helpful and went out of their way to be welcoming. They even went shopping for some breakfast provisions for us as we had a late arrival (thanks again Filiberto). We particularly enjoyed the alfresco dining area directly outside the kitchen and the pool was most popular with the whole family especially in the searing heat. Verona is a great place to stay and we enjoyed the town on several days during our visit. We would recommend a trip to lake Garda and also at least a day trip to Venice. We went on the train to Venice which takes you right onto the island. Gondolas are a bit pricey but worth the experience. One piece of advice - don’t sit outside a cafe in St Marks Square and order a coke - 7euros each. Go to the coop - 1euro each!

The house is tastfully decorated and has all amenities. The right side apartment is on the ground floor and second floor of the house and decorated in antique style. The top floor apartment is newly renovated with modern furniture and stretches over the top floor of the whole building. It is roomy and modern, but can be hot in summer. Airco is provided in both apartments. Both guest apartments have their own outdoor space. The house is a little above the village, looking out over the valley and surrounded by grapevines, olive trees and cypresses. The property is in the village Avesa where you can find some restaurants, a baker and a supermarket on walking distance. Verona is approx 3 km away, we did it on bicycle several times. (The bicycles came with the house) In the direct surroundings several nice walks and climbs. The host is very friendly and helpful. He was also easy to reach by e-mail and responding quickly. The swimming pool is currently also used by the owner, which was no trouble at all; the owner told us that a second pool will be built in a few months’ time. All in all a great villa, very suitable for a family reunion or group of friends.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the property. It’s in a beautiful location, very close to Verona but at the same time feels quiet and rural. The property is spacious and comfortable. The owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome and help. We had some hot water issues during our stay and they assisted and rectified promptly. The only improvements required are to the bathrooms, with the power of the showers needing to be improved.

Staying 10 days at Villa Avesa was wonderful! Surrounded by a beautiful vineyard, it was so tranquil to sit on the expansive patio sipping the local Valpolicella wine. The Villa was easy to find, actually matching the GPS coordinates(which is often not true in Italy!) Filiberto was there to meet us and thoroughly indoctrinated us to the ins and outs of the villa. He was always available to assist us with whatever we needed. He definitely bent over backwards to accommodate us graciously. The Villa is perfectly located for day trips to Verona, Venice, Mantova, Padua, and Lake Garda. Upon arriving home from these daily jaunts, we relaxed on the patio with our wine and threw a large steak on the BBQ. We would absolutely love to return to Villa Avesa in the future. It was perfect here for us as it would be for anyone.

We really loved Villa Avesa. I booked the villa last october for my mother's birthday. We were a big family of 7 adults and some children. The villa was everything we dreamed. Very beautifully decorated, but also yet very functional even with small children. The location is excellent, walking distance to the village of Avesa, as well as close to Verona centre. The view is wondeful. Armelle and Filiberto were very attentive and gave us very good suggestions. Every day we enjoyed something different in the region, but we had also good time to enjoy the property of the villa and walking in the hills in the nearby. Verona area is very interesting, with enough to see and do for every type of tourist. Every day we enjoyed something different in the region. The grounds for the property are really amazing and it is perfect for multiple families to vacation together. A can can be helpful but there is also a good bus service to the town at 5 minutes walking. We would like to come back again.

Lovely setting, quiet location, owners extraordinarily helpful and kind. Found the positive comments of many of the other reviewers to be quite similar to our reactions, particularly in terms of how comfortable and well-appointed the house is, how beautiful the property, and how accommodating the owners...The hike from the villa to the top of the same mountain/hill is worth the climb for the views of Avesa and Verona...Between the bus and local taxi service (prompt, easy to arrange by phone), trips to and from Verona are relatively easy, but having a car would allow greater access to the countryside around Verona. The owner provided the name of a local driver willing to make daily excursions from the villa, though we didn't take advantage of the service...Be prepared to do some walking if you arrive car-less and plan to have many meals at the house (i.e., buy groceries)...Highly recommend Villa Avesa...

My wife and I and friends just returned from a two week trip across Northern Italy. The highlight of the trip was our week in Verona at this spectacular rental in the darling village of Avesa. The location really is perfect. You are in the country, yet a 10 minute walk to basic services and just a 10 minute drive to the middle of Verona. Delightful farm house that has been beautifully updated with all the modern conveniences. Stunning views from almost every room. Extremely comfortable for two couples though there is a third bedroom. Large kitchen, huge bathrooms, the list goes on. We've been renting apartments and villas all over Europe for the last 7 years. The owner, Filiberto, gets the award for being one of the easiest to deal with. All four of us agreed that if we could give this rental six stars, we would. Can't wait to return.

We (two mature couples) stayed at Villa Avesa for three nights in early April and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is totally immersed in greenery, being surrounded by vineyards and the view is breathtaking. It's elevated, on a hill and you can see the valley of Avesa and some of Verona. Lovely and peaceful. There are three double bedrooms, one downstairs next to the kitchen and two upstairs and two lovely bathrooms, both upstairs. One of them is massive!! The house is quirkily decorated with some period features, in particular a beautiful old fireplace. There is a lovely space outside for lounging and sunbathing. There is also a magnificent swimming pool, but we went out of season and did not use it. It looked stunning! Filiberto, the owner, lives next door and is very helpful, with local information (he recommended a lovely homely trattoria in Verona) and with arrangements for the rental. The booking was extremely smooth and easy. The location is lovely, if you like being in the countryside but also near the city. It takes less than five minutes to stroll down to Avesa main street and get the bus, which will bring you to the centre in around 15 minutes. Check timetables beforehand. You can buy tickets in the local newsagent. TV and DVD player were much appreciated during a particularly rainy day... We recommend to stay at Villa Avesa.

We had our family vacation at Villa Avesa, 8 adults with 3 small children. The villa was exactly what we wanted and it had everything we needed. The photos don't show how beautiful the house is: comfortable bedrooms, accessorised kitchen, two wonderful living rooms with cheminees (where we had lovely family dinners). all the house is furnished with nice antique furniture, which makes you feel the athmosphere of an italian rural villa. The surroundings are really beautiful, full with green. it's really close to Verona city centre (10 min by car) and about 30 min to Garda lake where there are lots of activities for the children and all the family. the owners are charming and Always ready to give some good advice. We definitely recommend it!

The owners were very helpful to us prior to arrival, providing directions and promptly answering the many questions I had about the villa and area. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Filiberto and his beautiful family. We immediately felt welcomed at "at home". The villa was very clean and beautifully appointed, and the kitchen well-equiped for cooking when we chose to. The only negative was the electrical system, which took some getting used to, but once we figured that out (with some help) all was fine. The beds were very comfortable and all linens were crisp and clean. Having a washer and dryer allowed us to pack less, and was a big plus. I am smiling as I write this just remembering opening all the windows and doors and having the spring air and sunshine help us start the day. Speaking of starting the day, the coffee maker is the Italian version, which take some patience and time, and was fine with us, but some people may prefer to bring instant. The location was wonderful for going into Verona as well as accessing highways to travel to some of the less touristy places. Lake Garda was beautiful (don't miss the castle) and the village of Soave was so relaxing; stepping back in time. Villa Avesa's location made trips into Verona very easy, and there is so much more than Juliette's balcony to see. The photos here do not capture how beautiful the villa and property really are, perched up on a hill surrounded by olive trees and vineyards. Many thanks to Filiberto and family, and especially for the special shopping trip our daughter was treated to!!! A wonderful villa and perfect week of exploring!

I spend 4 days,3 nights, over at the villa Avesa in May 2010. The house was clean and organized. The kitchen had all the tools one needs to make a delicious spaghetti carbonara. One of the bathrooms was bigger than my bedroom back in NYC! A car is not needed unless you are older or have a problem walking uphill for a short 7 minutes. The towns bus system is very efficient and can take you cheaply back and forth to the old town. But who wanted to leave, when we had an amazing garden w/pool, vines, fig trees!

Das Feriendomizil liegt sehr schön. Gut geeignet als Ausgangspunkt für Besuche von Verona aber auch für Wanderungen. Die Übergabe klappt gut. Allerdings ließ die Sauberkeit sehr u wünschen übrig. Staubflocken unter den Betten, Geschirr und Besteck nicht sauber und das Objekt selbst ist teilweise veraltet und bedarf der Renovierung.

Abbiamo soggiornato presso Villa Avesa quattro giorni in occasione del capodanno, eravamo in 12 più due bambini piccoli e un cane e ci siamo trovati davvero benissimo. La struttura ha spazi molto ampi, sopratutto l'appartamento nell'attico, per cui nonostante fossimo in molti non abbiamo avuto alcun problema di spazi. Nel piano inferiore e nell'ammezzato le stanze e gli spazi sono molto caldi, arredati con mobili antichi ma ristrutturati perfettamente, i due camini hanno creato l'atmosfera giusta per le vacanze invernali e la cucina ci ha permesso di preparare per tre giorni pasti per tutti senza alcun disagio. L'appartamento nell'attico è molto luminoso ed è una perfetta seconda zona giorno. La villa inoltre si trova a due passi da Verona ma allo stesso tempo è immersa nella natura e nei vigneti della zona. I proprietari vivono in un appartamento della villa, e sono stati discreti ma molto gentili e disponibili davvero in qualunque momento, nel complesso possiamo dire il nostro soggiorno è stato davvero perfetto. Se ci capiterà di essere di nuovo in cerca di una casa in zona non esiteremo a tornare!

La villa e' molto grande, suddivisa su tre piani e puo' ospitare comodamente 14 persone. Gli spazi sono generosi (bellissima la grande sala da pranzo al primo piano, cosi' come tutta la mansarda). Abbiamo soggiornato qui alla fine di ottobre, quindi senza godere della piscina che sicuramente rappresenta un altro punto a favore. Enorme anche la proprieta' in cui e' immersa la villa, circondata da vigne e cipressi. Il centro di Verona si raggiunge in 10 minuti di macchina.

My family and I had a wonderful week in Verona and Villa Avesa. I rented the villa together with my three brothers and our families - all together 14 persons. Villa Avesa is an extraordinary place. Located in the outskirts of Verona - bordering the Valpolicella wineyards. Large rooms and fascinating details in architecture, furniture and artwork. Because of the warm summer days our favorite places were the outdoor dining table under the pergola, and the pool-area. Good communication with the host both in advance and during our stay.

Bâtisse magnifique, très belle piscine, à deux pas de Vérone mais au calme sur les hauteurs. Seul point à améliorer : la climatisation. En effet seule la chambre du bas a une climatisation efficace (la grand chambre du haut en est équipée mais elle fonctionne très mal et est très bruyante, l’autre chambre n’en a pas).

If you love the movie, you will love the house. Knowing Verona is Veneto, not Tuscany it is like stepping into the movie. Most quiet up the hill, you feel like living alone within the most wonderful garden and the vineyards overlooking Verona. Residing at Villa Avesa everything is close by, a short car ride to Verona, just a 40 minute drive to Lago di Garda. Even if you plan to discover the area, Villa Avesa will make you want to stay "at home", furbished absolutely lovable and special with wonderful places to just sit and relax inside as well as outside.
