The Space:

Whistling Rock is a new-construction home on 10 private acres among the boulders of Yucca Valley, with endless views from the patio doors. Fine finishes and furnishings, including an authentic Eames lounge chair, run through the home, and the backyard is set up for long days outside, with a pool, hot tub, fire pit, yoga deck and a covered outdoor dining area. Two primary suites, each with indoor and outdoor showers, and a bunk room share three bathrooms and sleep up to eight, making it a good fit for families or two couples traveling together. Take the outdoor shower; the boulders won't mind.

-Outdoor Amenities-

Open the patio doors to a 10-acre backyard surrounded by boulders. The pool, lined with loungers, has an attached hot tub, and the built-in propane fire pit is the place to gather once the sun goes down. The pergola has motorized shades and built-in heaters, so the outdoor dining area stays comfortable from midday to late evening, and the custom BBQ grill station is right there for cooking. Take a morning stretch on the meditation and yoga deck overlooking the views. The property is not fully fenced.



-Living Area-

The interiors are finished with quality materials and furnishings, including an authentic Eames lounge chair, and large windows let in the desert light. A dedicated workspace makes it easy to stay a little longer.



-Kitchen and Dining-

The fully equipped kitchen is ready for group meals, and the custom outdoor BBQ grill station and outdoor dining table under the pergola make it easy to cook and eat outside.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Whistling Rock sleeps 8 across three bedrooms. Two primary suites each have a king bed and both indoor and outdoor showers, and the third bedroom has two bunk beds. There are three bathrooms.



-Surrounding Area-

La Copine, downtown Joshua Tree, Pappy and Harriet's in Pioneertown, the Integratron and Palm Springs all make good outings from Whistling Rock. Explore the trails and local art, then come back to the pool and fire pit.



Guest Access:

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



The roads to Whistling Rock include dirt roads, so please take it slow.



Other Things to Note:

-House-Specific Rules-

► Please keep music at a reasonable volume and turn it off by the start of quiet hours.

► Please rinse off oils and lotions before entering, keep the cover on when not in use, and no drinking in the hot tub, please.



-Pool Heating Fee-

Should you wish to have the pool heated to 85 degrees, please notify us in advance of your arrival, as there will be a supplemental charge per day for this service due to high fuel costs in this area. If you'd like the pool heated for multiple days, we ask that days be consecutive to conserve energy, thank you! Pool heating is not usually necessary May through September. Please note that we will need at least 24 hours' notice to heat the pool.



► $350 for the first night, $200 for the second night and $100 per night after



During the winter months, please be aware that colder outdoor temperatures may cause the pool to feel cooler than its maintained temperature of 85°F. We kindly ask that you ensure this temperature meets your comfort level before submitting a request, as refunds cannot be issued on this basis.



-Pool and Hot Tub Heating-

No fee to heat the hot tub! Please note that the pool and hot tub cannot be heated at the same time. If heating the pool for multiple days, the days must be consecutive.



-Pool and Hot Tub Service-

The pool and hot tub are serviced Tuesdays and Fridays, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.



-Pet Policy-

We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation how many dogs you are bringing. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed due to the owner's severe allergy.

-Wildlife & Safety-

The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it's important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.



-Security Camera-

For your security, there are exterior cameras facing the driveway and entrance, which monitor vehicles and occupancy. There are no cameras inside the home or facing any private areas, including the pool and hot tub areas.



-Cell Service-

Cell phone coverage is available at the property, though reception can vary by carrier.



-Damage Waiver Policy-

Each reservation requires either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver.
