**THE RETREAT PROPERTY**
This home is located in Downtown Fort Payne with distant views of nearby Lookout Mountain. There is a private concrete driveway and parking area for 2 vehicles, as well as a space for turning your vehicle around. A privacy fence lines the retreat property on both sides between neighbors, with an open entrance and open, natural views into the back yard and surrounding woods!
There are 6 stairs leading to the spacious front porch. This covered porch invites you to relax and take in the fresh mountain air, rain or shine. Step through the front door to the main living area that welcomes you with comfortable lounge seating for 6 guests. Entertainment enthusiasts will appreciate the Fast Wi-Fi and 75" HD Smart TV for streaming your favorite subscribed channels. With corporate guests and remote workspaces in mind, each of the 4 large televisions in this home provide screen-sharing and live-conferencing capabilities. And in this area, it’s very common for opposing football team fans to watch “the big game” in separate locations, so this home is here for it! Also in the living area is a gas log stove fireplace for cool mornings at the mountain :)
Directly next to the living area is the dining area and kitchen. The well-equipped kitchen has granite countertops, stainless appliances, dishes, drinking glasses, utensils, pots, pans, and spices for your home-away-from home cooking needs. The homeowners love to travel, and this home has so many extras that they also love to find when they are choosing a vacation rental home. A large kitchen island offers a fantastic preparation and serving area for family meals, and there is indoor dining space for up to 6 with a table and 4 chairs, as well as 2 stools. There is also a coffee station with a 12-cup coffee maker and an electric water kettle for hot teas.
Next to the Dining Area, there is a laundry room with a washer and dryer, ironing board available for your convenience, as well as an electric steamer.
A significant highlight of this home is the spacious primary bedroom suite. It has a very comfortable king-sized bed with a MLiLY Fusion Luxe/ Hybrid mattress, with a cooling cover and medium/plush feel to help every guest rest well. There is also a large 65" HD Smart TV for movie nights in and even a private remote workspace in the corner with an office desk and chair. Adjoining the primary bedroom is the en-suite primary bathroom, complete with a 2-sink vanity. The customized walk-in shower, large soaking tub and towel warmer offer a spa-like experience for those seeking relaxation after a day of adventures atop Lookout Mountain. The third bedroom has views into the backyard area and a remote-controlled adjustable bed frame that even has a massage setting for tired muscles after a day of chasing waterfalls :)
*FYI: All of the beds, mattresses and sleeping pillows at Melody Ridge were purchased locally at Beds, Floors and More in Fort Payne. We get asked often by guests because they’re so comfy :)
Between the second and third bedroom, there is a second full bathroom with a tub/shower combination, sink, toilet, and towel warmer.
Through the sliding glass doors beside the dining area, a spacious back deck awaits you and provides the ideal setting for outdoor gathering and al fresco dining. A gas fire pit is ready for cool nights and gathering with family.

Stayed here two separate weekends in October and was very happy both times! Hosts are very responsive- my mom had trouble getting in and using the electronic door lock system as she’s not tech savvy and the hosts helped us multiple times to navigate. Clean, equipped, and peaceful spot. Recommend!

We were visiting my grandfather in Valley Head and chose to stay here and were SO happy with our decision! This is a lovely home and we had such a fun time. The leaves surrounding the property are absolutely gorgeous in November, and we were so glad to have such a great view in every direction. The beds were very comfortable, and the home has everything you need. Next time we visit Alabama as a family, we will check availability here first!

My wife, her 2 sisters, and the husbands always do a yearly sister trip. We stayed here for our weekend and all 6 fit very comfortably in this property. I’m particularly a critic of water pressure in rentals. This one did not disappoint. Shower in master was amazing. Mistie was very quick to reply to all our questions. We were pleased with the quiet neighborhood and the back deck was a plus. Enjoyed our stay very much.

This is a lovely home with everything you need. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and listening to the sounds of nature after we hiked several local spots. We will stay here or with Misti again.
