Octopus Homestay

Loved the family and this little oasis in uluwatu. A great little spot, a home away from home with a super comfortable bed. Highly recommend!

The most amazing bed - definitely the most comfortable I've slept in in Bali Great A/C Overall just a lovely little hut to stay in Lovely hosts who are willing to help out with whatever you need. They are also happy to prepare you meals if you ask them! We even got taken to a local beach totally free of charge! Good location away from the hustle and bustle of Uluwatu but still only a short 10 min grab bike into town. Great restaurant just across the road.

Hot water in the shower didn't last too long but was totally manageable. Our grab driver really struggled to find it and we had to end up ringing. However, you could easily just put the location as the restaurant across the road (Amaranth from memory) and walk across the road from there.

The host family was so lovely and accommodating, the location was perfect, we rented a motorbike and could get anywhere on the peninsula easily (would also work with a Grab scooter ride). The bed was the most comfortable we had during our 7 week stay, and the aircon made sleeping so, soo comfortable without being freezing. The kitchen was a good size for basic meals and helped us save some money, and the bathroom was clean and comfortable. It was really nice to have a bit of private outdoor space with the deck, and when the power tripped or the internet went out, the Budi family was so quick to notice and came to help reset everything before we even had a chance to ask. We ate some of our best meals prepared by the family. We stayed for a month, and would highly recommend for long stays! The closet made keeping our space neat and organized so easy, and the wifi was great for working remotely when we needed it. We definitely look forward to coming back here again!

We loved everything about our stay. Some people might find the hot water to be a bit short in the shower, but to be honest we preferred showering with cool water the whole time because of the heat.

I had a wonderful and welcoming stay at Octopus Homestay! This is a brand-new property built on the grounds of a local Indonesian family, and you’ll have the entire place to yourself. The bathroom and kitchen are separate but part of the same structure, offering complete privacy. The family was incredibly sweet, kind, and grateful to have me as their first guest. The location is perfect—directly across from Uluwatu Hub co-working space, which was super convenient for me and other digital nomads. For everything else, I used Gojek to get around with ease. The property is excellent value for the price. Do note that there are roosters nearby (as is common across Bali), so bringing earplugs might be a good idea. All in all, a great stay and a fantastic experience!
