Villa Wonrich

The villa was perfectly suited to our goal of doing academic work away from home. The house is very stylish and cozy, which is especially important for a longer stay. The private pool is a particularly valuable way to cool down for guests coming from colder climates. The house and the garden were kept in excellent condition at all times, and laundry was done whenever we requested it. For breakfast we were served fresh juice and typical Sri Lankan dishes. The hotel owner also brought us local fruits and sweets to taste. In addition, he helped organize trips to various attractions and showed us places we likely would not have discovered on our own.

The railway is nearby, but you get used to the sound of passing trains very quickly (train traffic is not very frequent). The Wi-Fi can sometimes be a bit inconsistent, but any issues are resolved quickly.

We enjoyed our stay at this place so much! The location is quiet & peaceful, the villa is performed in colonial style including furniture & decorations with a pinch of Buddhism. It also has all the comfort features for the tropical climate: aircons in each room, fans all over the place, handy kitchen, a bathroom with hot water. There's also a large patio in front of the villa with tropical plants, shady places to rest in & of corse a nice pool with lights & bubbles with multiple depth suitable for swimming for kids & grownups. Besides all the comfort I shoud say many thanks to the staff & the owner of the place! The owner holds maximum responsibility far above the limits of original hospitality for your comfort & good emotions, eager to fulfill any of your demands, help in some tricky situations if needed. I guess we've made friends as it was a pleasure to communicate! Many thanks to the housekeeper who treated us with traditional Sri Lankan breakfasts (mmm yummy!) & for keeping the place clean & shiny! So we've had a marvelous vacation with our family at Villa Wonrich & strongly recomend to visit it!
