We stayed at dozens of places across Morocco, but Dar Mawati was definitely one of the best. Even though we made a last-minute reservation, we were welcomed quickly, and honestly, we were blown away the moment we stepped inside. The place is newly refurbished, very tasteful and cozy, and perfectly clean. The bedrooms are comfortable and just the right size, with plenty of storage, multiple bathrooms, and beautifully lit rooftop areas that really add to the atmosphere. The area is just outside the center, with Jemaa el-Fnaa (and most sights) reachable in approximately 8 minutes by taxi (around 50 dirhams), so the crowds don’t bother you, but you can still experience an authentic Marrakech neighborhood. The hosts were incredibly helpful throughout our stay and even prepared breakfast for us at a flexible time, which we really appreciated. The breakfast itself was great and met all expectations. Thank you again for the wonderful stay!
That I couldn't spend more time in there :)

We had a wonderful stay at Dar Mawati over New Year and I would agree with all that Heather Yeadon has said in her review of 30 November 2025. From our arrival in Marrakech to our leaving, Nejoua and her colleagues looked after us very well. Nejoua organised taxis at all times of day and evening (negotiating good prices) and booked activities. We were made very welcome by everyone at Dar Mawati including the owner, Nezha, and her husband Andreas, and even got to share in their family and friends New Years Eve celebration. Naima, the housekeeper, is a wonderful cook and prepared us a gorgeous breakfast each morning and delicious Moroccan food on the evenings that we ate at home. The house itself is lovely and located in a quiet area of Marrakesh, convenient for site seeing. It is a pleasant 25 min walk from the main square, or a 10min taxi journey (abt 60-150 dirhams depending on time of day/no of passengers). Although warned against pickpockets in the Medina, we felt very safe in Marrakech, day and night, and found the Moroccan people we met to be pleasant, welcoming and helpful. We are a family of 5 (parents with teenagers/young adults) and found plenty to keep us occupied including Medina Souks, quad bike/camel ride, spa and good restaurants/bars (we would recommend La Pergola and Limoni). We would highly recommend Dar Mawati to groups of friends, families, or solo travellers. Cons No suitable for anyone with mobility issues due to the 3 floor layout but suspect this is common in Riads.

We booked this beautiful house when in Marrakech and had discovered our first booking was a scam. Within minutes of booking, Nejoua had contacted us and was more than helpful with speaking to the local taxi driver on the phone to direct them to the house. Everything from the moment we got to the house was seamless and stress free. Naima, the housekeeper, prepared us a great breakfast every morning at our requested time. She made a great spread of eggs, breads, pancakes, freshly squeezed orange juice and mint tea of course. One day we had been in the desert and got covered in dirt and she kindly took our laundry as there is no access to laundry in the house. She kept the house is a beautifully clean state the whole time we were there. Our hosts were very helpful and were contactable the entire time via WhatsApp. They were more than happy to share their knowledge and even book excursions and taxis for us and checked in that things were okay. We had one little issue with the shower and this was sorted straight away. Location wise we had no issues when booking excursions that included a pickup, we requested to be picked up from the pharmacy at the accommodation. It was a very short taxi ride into the Medina and we even had some food delivered right to the door with no issues. Good location away from the hustle and bustle of the Medina without being too far. I would definitely recommend this house to a group of friends or family. We had a great stay. Thank you!!
There isn't a lot to say that we didn't like about the property! The beds were very hard compared to what we are all used to. The house is split over 3 levels, a toilet on the bottom, a shower and toilet on the middle and a shower on the top. It would have been nice to have a toilet at the top level too but the house is a beautiful old building and this is just the way it is, if you don't mind a few stairs then this won't be a problem! If you are a light sleeper some earbuds might be worth packing as the calls for prayer does sound quite early in the morning. I slept through it all but my brothers said they were awoken by the sound.

Bien localisé, propre et bien aménagé. La dame qui nous a accueilli était serviable et tout le temps à l’écoute.
