About this cottage rental
Spacious cabin with a unique location in Lysøysundet in Ørland Municipality on “fantastic Fosen.” From the cabin, you can enjoy views of the archipelago and the sea, with magnificent sunsets during the summer months. There’s room for several families here, with 14 comfortable sleeping spots spread across 4 bedrooms plus an annex and a separate TV room in the cabin’s loft. A separate outbuilding features a spacious bathroom with an infrared sauna for 4 people.
The area offers opportunities for wonderful excursions on land and at sea, or simply to enjoy a peaceful cabin life.
The cabin is idyllically situated on Hestneset by Hellesvika, approximately 3 km from downtown Lysøysund, with magnificent views of the archipelago and the sea to the northwest and spectacular sunsets during the summer months. On the east side of Hestneset is a small-boat dock with opportunities for swimming and angling. The area is popular for kayaking. Behind the cabin, a hiking trail leads up to Liafjellet, a 15-minute hike to an elevation of 116 meters above sea level.
In Lysøysund, you’ll find Ankeret Pier, which offers boat rentals for tours and saltwater fishing, as well as sea rafting in RIBs. The town has a Coop Prix grocery store, a gas station with an electric car charging station, a ball court, and a new 18-hole disc golf course. A soccer field with a grass surface is located 2.5 km from the town center. From Lysøysund, Rømmesfjellet, at 272 meters above sea level, is a popular hiking destination. The Olden River, 5 km away, offers opportunities for salmon fishing.
On the way to Lysøysundet lies Bjugn, one of the two municipal centers in Ørland Municipality, with shops, a pharmacy, a liquor store, and restaurants. Bjugnhallen hosts ice skating and go-karting, depending on the season.
The other municipal center, Brekstad, 32 km away, offers even more great shopping opportunities, including the Librasenteret. The town serves as a port of call for express boats and ferries.
