About this apartment rental

Surf Master by the Sea 904 is a two-bedroom, two-bath oceanfront condo located 1.2 miles north of Garden City Pier. This condo features a fully-equipped and updated kitchen complete with dishwasher, and microwave, as well as a furnished oceanfront balcony, washer, dryer, and central heat and air conditioning. Other amenities include three flat screen TVs (cable), DVD player, and Wi-Fi. Sleeping accommodations include one king, one queen and one queen-sized sofa bed. Common area features two elevators in both towers, two oceanfront swimming pools and hot tubs, limited parking, (some covered) 7-foot clearance. Parking spaces are extremely limited and availability is based on the size of each unit. One bedroom units are assigned one pass; two and three bedroom units are assigned two passes. Vehicles not displaying a parking pass on the rear view mirror or in a prominent area on the dash board are subject to immediate towing per the Surf Master HOA. Additional parking passes are not available for other guests or visitors of guests. This unit is located in the north building. No smoking. No pets. No golf carts allowed. Maximum occupancy: 6

Conveniently located close to some of the best area attractions, Garden City Beach is directly south of Surfside Beach and ends on a peninsula at the mouth of Murrells Inlet. One of the most renowned attractions in Garden City Beach is the Pier at Garden City. Other points of interest include Marlin Quay Marina and restaurants Sara J's Seafood Restaurant, Gulfstream Cafe, and Original Sam's Corner.

Just south of Garden City Beach is Murrells Inlet, a seaside community considered the "Seafood Capital of South Carolina" and home to some of the nation's best golf courses. Once primarily a fishing village, the town is best known for the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk, a half-mile-long boardwalk overlooking a pristine salt marsh, and the many award-winning restaurants along Highway 17 Business in the central business district.

Brookgreen Gardens, a sculpture garden and wildlife preserve built on four former rice plantations, is located slightly south of the MarshWalk. It features several themed gardens with American figurative sculptures, trails through several nature reserve ecosystems, and the Lowcountry Zoo.

If you're looking for places to shop, The Market Common, Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, two Tanger shopping outlets, Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade, and many more shopping facilities are all within an easy drive from Garden City Beach.

Looking for entertainment and attractions? Take in a show at Pirates Voyage, Medieval Times, Alabama Theater, The Carolina Opry, or Legends in Concert. Then visit SkyWheel Myrtle Beach, Ripley's Aquarium, WonderWorks, Ripley's Believe It Or Not Odditorium, Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center, and The Pavilion Nostalgia Park.

Other points of interest close by include the waterfront community of Georgetown, the third oldest city in South Carolina and the second largest seaport in South Carolina, and historic Conway, with its downtown Riverwalk area nestled on the banks of the Waccamaw River. Both towns include fine dining, shopping, and historic sites.

Take a day trip to Charleston to experience shopping, a harbor cruise, a city carriage tour, or a plantation tour. Charleston is only 87 miles from Garden City Beach - approximately two hours. It's a picturesque and exquisitely preserved southern city with antebellum architecture, cobblestone streets, and historical landmarks.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our experience was fair to midland in this condo. The condo is beautifully decorated. Basically comfortable except for the practicality of far too many knick-knacks sitting around. Creates no place to set your personal belongings. Another issue is the fact there are 2 owner's closets in the condo. The primary bedroom does not have a closet for guest use. Instead, the owner's have replaced the closet with an armoire. Unfortunately it's no closet. Among other things, the pots and pans need replaced and the dryer is in need of repair. Inside the drum is rusted and transferred that rust onto our clothes. The condo could also use a good deep clean as well.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed a week during the 4th of July holiday and we had a great time. We were able to check in before 4pm and the room was clean and the view was amazing. We did bring a lot of household items, since we were givin a heads up as to what items were available. We already booked for next year. We only wish there were ceiling fans.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Room was decorated nicely. Furnishings were appropriate and in good condition. Master bed had an armoire that was good for hanging clothes. Downsides = since Garden City advertises this as WELCOME HOME the rental was a little short on some amenities = fully understanding that we have to provide for consumables (this is our 30+ yr in Garden City / Surfside) but when you get there you expect some basics such as more than 2 rolls of TP for a two week stay; no aluminum / tin foil; no cling / saran wrap. Fan switch in Master bath was not fully functional only turned on when force was applied to the switch = fan shut off for a minute or two after it was initially on (twice) == Did not feel like "Home". Also = I believe we should get credit as we paid for two weeks which includes two weeks of cleaning - but we only left one time = at the end. Needless to say we will not return to 904 let alone GC or Surfside anytime soon.

Reviewer Comments: All aspects of Garden City Realty as a rental company was a great experience: friendly representatives, excellent communication, complete guidance for a trouble free vacation rental.The unit, however, was disappointing in that there was virtually nothing provided for the guests. It was clean...but there was nothing to use to wipe down anything or clean in any way. There were four tissues in an almost empty box, two half rolls of toilet paper, and almost no paper towels on a roll. No beach items at all. No ice or water dispenser on the fridge. One trash bag other than the trash bag in the container. Guests will need to go shopping immediately upon arrival. This may be the standard situation for most rentals, but my previous experiences at SurfMaster were very different.I have stayed at other rentals in this building (using other rentals methods) that provided much more in the way of basic items. I am not sure if this has to do with the actual owner of the property, but someone should provide just a little more to guests in the way of basic supplies and beach items. The beds were not the most comfortable, but there were plenty of linens, towels and washcloths available. The coffee maker was fine.In the future, I would likely choose a different unit if others were available...for comparison purposes, if nothing else.
