CradleLicious Nguni Farm Cottage

It was a good, relaxing farm experience, spent on a long weekend, amidst nature and farm animals. The caretaker (Bernard) and cleaner (Charity) were helpful in showing as around, assisting with our luggage and offering general assistance during our stay. The animals on the farm were great which my son really enjoyed interacting with. The cottage was comfortable and the beds were comfy and we could let our dogs run free in the small garden area (which we made a plan to enclose). The farm was not a far drive from Johannesburg.

The original cottage I booked on booking.com was double booked. I was offered another cottage which had no idea what it looked like before I got there. The wifi signal was quite poor, and virtually impossible to connect to so we could not utilize the streaming services like Netflix. The cottage was comfortable but did require some general maintenance/improvements (e.g. spare toilet was leaking, not all the grass in the cottage garden area was mowed short) and didn't have certain general amenities like towel hooks/racks and a door for the bathroom. There was a beehive located right next to our cottage, located in the private garden area, so one needed to be cautious/vigilant especially if you have kids and dogs - this was not conveyed to me beforehand. There was a communal pool, however it was dirty and not swimmable (regardless of it being Winter).

Responsiveness of the host and the effort they when to accommodate additional requests. Additionally, the place had all the homely amenities, appliances, and utensils required to feel at home

The fact that although we asked to have dinner there , it was not at all what we expected. We were told it would be delivered to our room, It finally arrived at 8:15p.m after I phoned and queried where our meal was. We were given a hamburger and cold chips. Thankfully they had a microwave in our room. We did not stay for breakfast.
