Maitreya Homestay

When you first walk into Matreya Homestay, you immediately feel a sense of peace and serenity. The place is perfect for slowing down and enjoying the real spirit of Nepal. The whole family is very warm, genuine and kind. I wish I could have stayed longer, but 8 days were enough to start to feel at home here. They helped me find some people who could teach me proper Nepali cuisine (the many courses you find in Kathmandu are very basic and often disappointing) and Neelam herself took some time off her busy routine to teach me some outstanding Newari dishes. 10/10 recommended. Go here if you want to experience real Nepal in a clean, spacious and sunny environment.

La chambre est propre, spacieuse, équipée de multiples rangements et baignée de lumière. Le logement est situé à l’intérieur d’une belle cour. Le propriétaire est très sympathique et toujours disponible. Une machine à laver est à disposition pour faire sa lessive. Le quartier de Patan vaut le détour (temples, sites historiques, cafés, restaurants, shopping)

The homestay is peaceful, clean and comfortable, located next to a monastery in a small quiet courtyard in the historic Patan. The rooms are modern and well-appointed, have plenty of beautiful natural light, and the beds are very comfortable. The hosts are most kind and helpful but not intrusive.

Nothing in particular. Just one thing about the listing that I mentioned to the owner that can be misleading: it’s not a private apartment. It’s a room with attached bathroom in a 5 story house, very comfortable and with a lot of privacy and access to common spaces that are very well maintained.
