Captain Max has very nice lodge. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and air conditioned. Max is attentive but not overbearing. A good breakfast is provided. The location is a short 2 block walk to the main street and the pier. Not the fanciest but a very solid value.

We had booked two nights but left as soon as we found another place (right on the corner, The Crossman). When we first got there the person at the counter was more focused on his computer than greeting us. Eventually someone else showed up to tell us the basics and give us the key to our room. The room smelled dingy and looked dirty. The AC would not work properly because they had a window with no glass (just a mesh) so the cold air gets out. The whole place was not clean. Do not stay here! There are other much better alternatives around.
