Location was useful for our needs

It is managed through a management company. This made the communication very cold and almost threatening feeling, it certainly didn’t make us feel welcome. Check out time is 10am, which is pretty tight when most places are 11 or 12. They charge you £25 for every hour beyond the scheduled check out time you request! This is excessive, they say it’s because their staff have to “double up” to get places cleaned. Hardly think so. When we arrived there was bedding in the dryer and a load of used and opened condiments in the fridge. They looked disgusting. The air fryer they say they have doesn’t exist. The “jacuzzi” isn’t a jacuzzi, it’s a shower with a couple of weak jets spitting at you. The Wii wasn’t working because the batteries were dead - you should probably maintain these things. For a house that takes a dozen occupants there was only 1 single Wii controller so nobody can play games against someone else. The pool table has two cues but one has no tip to it and there’s no chalk. The ice and water machine in the fridge doesn’t work, the bin lid is battery operated but doesn’t work either so to use the bin you need to handle the lid constantly. The maintenance of the place lacks in the extreme I’m afraid The place sleeps a dozen people but only 4 can sit in the games lounge and there’s no other sofa in the place. They also take a £300 deposit, not the £197 they advertise that they require. They will hold onto your deposit for days beyond your stay.

The amount of rooms

I originally booked a luxury apartment through Booking.com. A few days prior to my stay, I was contacted by the director of the apartments, who informed me that I should never have been able to book the property at the price I paid, as it was apparently incorrect. He stated that, in order to stay there, I would need to pay an additional £120 cleaning fee. I expressed my dissatisfaction, and he offered me an alternative apartment from his portfolio instead. Unfortunately, the alternative accommodation was located in an unsuitable and unsafe area. There was a strong smell of drugs in the vicinity, and several individuals on the street were using offensive language—conditions entirely inappropriate for young children. The property description online stated that it came with a back garden, but in reality, the outdoor space was inaccessible. It was filled with rubbish, overgrown vegetation, and stacked furniture, creating an unsafe environment. Inside the apartment, the cleanliness was unacceptable. The bed sheets were creased and we found a hair in the bed upon pulling back the duvet. The walls throughout the property were marked, a dirty sock was left on the floor, and some kitchen tiles were falling off. The property had an unpleasant smell throughout, which was so off-putting that we were unable to eat there and had to book a restaurant table after 9pm. I was also charged a £300 security deposit—double the cost of my booking—which I had to chase multiple times to have refunded. When my bank informed me that I needed an authorisation code to release the funds, I relayed this to the director, who responded, “Your bank is telling you porkies, mate.” This response was both unprofessional and dismissive. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing. The accommodation was unclean, unsafe, and not as described. I would not recommend this property or the service provided.

The mattresses were super, the kitchen well resourced and the games room well prepped.

The parking situation was a little unclear, didn’t know where exactly the 3 spaces were meant to be.
