This stay got off to a good start even before we moved in. I was fortunate to have a few communications with the Hosts and felt instantly like old friends. For Bard families, we chose this place for our daughter's last Thanksgiving in the area as she graduates in May. The home is far enough away to be quiet and secluded, but close enough to Rhinebeck, Saugerties, Red Hook, etc. for getting away to restaurants and shopping. And the drive is beautiful. And, thanks to advice from the Hosts, we made several excursions up the mountain to Kaaterskill Falls and the neighboring charming towns. The hike from the top of the falls (recommended) was challenging, but well worth the adventure and the pics are spectacular. And the neighboring towns have a nice selection of local coffee shops, restaurants and there's even a Topp's Food Market, which is much closer than driving to Rhinebeck or Saugerties, which is only a concern if it's getting late and you just want to chill in the house. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say I wouldn't hesitate to book this place and I know we'll be back. You can tell the owners care about their home. It was very well appointed, clean and very welcoming. There's also a gas stove which we prefer, but don't have at home. The turkey was done to perfection as can only happen in a gas stove, not that you needed to know that. LOL!

We did have kids with us on this girls weekend, the house seemed to be very family-friendly, with a nice kitchen, 2 full baths, and a nice sized open concept living area. The property was very clean, bright and well-lit, and had plenty of room for the two of us. The WiFi was speedy and allowed me to get the little bit of business I had to do done quickly and efficiently. The hosts were very easy to work with, and everything in the house was in perfect working order. In fact, we enjoyed our stay so much we are already planning a return visit next year.
