Charming Lincoln Cottage Family & Pet-Friendly

Location was perfect - 5 minute walk from the cathedral and castle. Good access to plenty of places to eat nearby too. Cottage had everything we needed for our 2 day stay

Brilliant that there was onsite parking, though the access was tight - we drive a Skoda Octavia, and had to negotiate a narrow lane with cars parked on it, and a tight turn into the parking space

The location was EXCELLENT. It was far enough from the cathedral and castle to be away from the crowds but a very easy and straight-forward walk to castle square. It was also a comfortable walk to restaurants. As a bonus, there was a grocery a VERY short walk away to get breakfast foods or sandwiches or any normal necessities. The apartment was clean and the amenities were fine. Temperature and pressure of the water in the shower was fine. I do not grade bed comfort because that is such a subjective thing.

Communications with the owner were problematic. I attempted contact (via telephone, text, and WhatsApp to the numbers in the on-site info booklet) to sort out the functioning of the radiators because it was chilly. The thermostat didn't seem to have an effect so I presumed I needed to do something with the rads themselves, but never got clarification back on what we needed to do to get them to work. That was disappointing as I'm presuming it would have been an easy fix. Considering the quality of everything else, I presume the heating was also of quality, but not if one doesn't know how to work it. Other than that, I would have graded the property as at least a 9 at worst and quite possibly a 10, but sitting on the sofa in a jacket in the evenings cost points on the grade.

Very close to the centre, dog friendly, good sized rooms and ideal that we could park 2 cars.

The beds were very soft, but that is a personal thing. The bedrooms needed black out window coverings, especially the front bedroom, due to having lighting and zebra crossing straight outside.
