Villa's Gio Shala River

Beperkt warm water en de stroom viel een keer uit, maar dit was bij alle accommodaties in het gebied.

Loved the hospitality of the host, this is totally a family run operation and they aim to please. Within minutes after making our reservation we heard immediately from them how to arrive, sending us a picture of the exact boat and what time it would arrive at the ferry dock for pick up. We had no problem spotting him coming in. Then arrived to the resort at around 10:30 and our cabin was completely ready for us! Great breakfast and dinner! It was such a respite in the beautiful mountains and out of the chaos and heat of the city! We hope to be back in the Fall.

It was an amazing stay, very relaxed and welcoming. The owner and his family were sweet and generous, always looking out after me being the only solo traveller at the villa. Location is obviously stunning, as it is the Shala river afterall. There is no signal but the villa has wifi that you can connect to even on the sunbeds down by the river. Breakfast was also lovely. There is a short trail just behind the villa for a quick hike. Also plenty of activity nearby other than just swimming and tanning, kayaking and ziplining exist too.

The lighting inside the room is a bit dark, I wish it could be brighter. And the hot water only lasted a few minutes.

We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this guesthouse. The communication before and during our stay was superb – responses were always very quick, incredibly helpful, and in excellent English, which made everything so easy. The home-cooked dinner was one of the highlights of our trip. Everything was delicious, especially the homemade pie, and it was perfectly paired with local wine. The coffee was excellent too. The guesthouse itself is beautiful, with lovely flowers throughout the garden creating such a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. The hosts went above and beyond to help us with our hike. They kindly arranged a 6:00 am transfer to the trailhead and prepared both breakfast and a packed lunch for us to take along, which was hugely appreciated. A wonderful place with exceptional hospitality – we would definitely stay here again.
