The property is a private house, the ground floor consists of 2 apartements. The apartment is very big: 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen (kettle, fridge, cutlery), bathroom. The aircon heating worked though it was still a bit cold in the areas where it didn't reach (in December). Hosts were nice, they welcomed us with a box of local sweets and sent us some recommendations about places to visit in the area.

The house is located in a strange, non-obvious place, we had a hard time finding it (the only landmark is the nearby mosque). The second floor of the house is unfinished, there is a big area with construction rubbish in front of it, other buildings are under construction too. There is no sign, no light and there was no one there when we arrived, even though we messaged our arrival time (you need to call the host when you arrive). The host invited us to park the car right in front of the entrance, but we really don't recommend this. The tunnel leading to the entrance is narrow, and in the darkness we scratched our car against some metal box fixed to the wall. The blankets were thin for December, so we had to take all extra blankets from the wardrobe to keep us warm. The property looked clean but there was a cockroach in the kitchen. A bit difficult to open the front door, you need to pull the door towards yourself. The shower is not separated from the bathroom.

The hosts are lovely - we got lost and they drove to us and guided us to their accom then showed us around and made sure everything was ok. I really want to give them a 10/10 because of how nice they are but need to be truthful in our review of the accom not the host The apartment is huge and although basic it did have everything we needed.

The beds are hard - but this is personal preference and we’ve come to realize many in Tunisia are. Some bottled drinking water would have been handy and even a small amount of milk given we arrived late in the dark. The wet room is a terrible idea - literally everything gets wet and we were only given very small towels (bath mat size). The kitchen is basic - no plates, just bowls. We did not cook and opted for getting takeaway pizzas, the fridge is a small bar fridge that has seen better days, it was not plugged in and the socket looked a little unsafe. The lounge furniture and single beds felt like they were hard foam on top of timber pallets very low to the ground and although several cushions were provided these are not comfortable. There is a split system in the main bedroom and a portable column heater in the 2nd bedroom but when turned on it blew the main fuse, which we reset but then kept the heater unplugged. It’s cold in winter so that’s an issue.
