Villa Colibri - Secluded Villa - Short Stroll to Beach, Shops & Restaurants

We had a fantastic stay here. The location is ideal—an easy walk to the beach, cafes, and a supermarket—yet it still feels completely private and tucked away in the forest. The house itself is beautiful, surrounded by lush greenery and wildlife. It felt genuinely special to relax in the hammock while watching toucans, parakeets, blue morpho butterflies, and hummingbirds passing overhead. The pool was perfect for cooling off during the hot, humid days, and we even spotted bright green frogs resting on the leaves nearby. The constant backdrop of forest sounds—birds, crickets, frogs, and distant howler monkeys—made the whole experience feel immersive and unique. We were very sad to leave and would happily return.

Nothing really. The weather was quite hot and humid during our stay which made sleeping a little uncomfortable but on the cooler nights it was perfect.

Prachtige ligging wat een geweldige beleving was. De dieren die je hier zag in hun natuurlijke habitat, heel mooi! En de unieke opzet van het huis met zeer mooie tuin was geweldig om in te verblijven. ‘S nachts een wasbeer op het terras gespot die je secondenlang aankijkt, erg bijzonder! De host is zeer vriendelijk, behulpzaam en voorziet je van veel informatie en tips. Het is een aanrader!

Nothing wished we could have stayed longer.

Villa Colibri is such a beautiful paradise! It feels like a real jungle experience, but at the same time it’s well located next to the beach. Best of both worlds I would say. The villa itself is gorgeous, well maintained and felt like it was build with a lot of love. The garden, how do I describe.. it was like living in a (free) zoo! There were so many animals, waking up with colobri’s, tucans at breakfast, the sounds of monkeys. For bird lovers in particular, there are a lot of hotspots just a short stroll away. It takes about 3 minutes to get to the beach where the lush jungle is next to the ocean shore. Creating a perfect environment for shorebirds as well as forest dwellers. Leo is a great host, he made sure all our needs were met. It was by far our favorite stay in Costa Rica! Highly recommend!
