Blue Cottage

The cottage was wonderful and we loved staying. Inside was clean and everything was great. The location was just what we wanted and it was easy to stay there.

We loved it.

It was so close to the Grove, short walk to Pohara, short drive to Takaka and near to Ligar Bay, Tata Beach and Wanui Falls :-) Cottage was very cosy for 5 of us, lots of chopped firewood and kindling to keep us warm in the evening - playing board games in front of the log burner. Delicious juicy oranges from the tree next door to go with breakfast - thanks Gay for a fab stay!

Loved this. The cottage was beautiful. It had all the basic requirements (unless you wanted something specific, and if that's the case, take it with you). Slippy at the base of the steps due to the weather (winter & wet) due to the muddy area, it's rural, it's part of the experience. Just don't fall. Loved the wood burner in winter. (I have one, so it's nice to go to a place with one also). The beds were very comfortable. Hot showers. 10 minutes from Tarkaka center. Highly recommend. Will definitely be booking here again next time I pop over for the weekend. The TV was basic channels, but I took my laptop and watched Netflix on that in the evenings.

Would recommend looking at some form of paving outside the steps of the cottage. I don't believe the photos on booking.com exceeded the smugness of this property. Would highly recommend updating them, adding a night photo with the fire roaring.

Great location! Cozy and warm. Loved hearing the birds chirping in the morning.
